MSNBC Needs a Drool Bucket

I tried to watch the SOTU last night but after 5 years of being lied to by the democrats and Obama I just couldn't take it.
I saw this video in Weasel Zippers . The unashamed fawning over the Obamessiah is frankly embarrassing.
There's not even a pretense of objectivity at that network and there can be no expectation that it doesn't overflow into NBC.
Get ready for the commie/liberal/progressive media to carry water for the democrats again before the mid-terms.

Not Holding My Breath

Fat chance Obama apologizing for anything.
He needs to apologize not only for Obamacare but for his deliberate smashing of the middle class and the constant way he tries to divide Americans along racial, economic and gender lines.

Mike Huckabee and the Great Divide

I'm not a fan of Mike Huckabee at all. As a matter of fact I lived in Arkansas when he was governor and I can tell you the most dangerous place to be is between him and the lens of a camera. Self promotion was his most pressing policy.
That said the current uproar over his remarks about how the democrats see women touches on just a small part of how democrats manipulate the people in this country for partisan gain.

The liberal/commie/progressives use division as their stock in trade to frighten or whip up envy to keep their voters in line.
Women against men, straights against gays, the poor vs. the "rich", people of European descent against people of color and just about any other difference they can find that they can exploit to pit people against each other.
What Huckabee was talking about was just one of the many ways the democrats have used to divide and conquer in their own quest for power and wealth.
It's past time for them to be called on it and laid bare for everyone to see instead of the liberal elite parsing and distorting what the point actually is.

Liberal Strategy...Mockery

Here's a video that has been making the rounds on the internet today of Wendy Davis' supporters mocking her opponent Greg Abbot, the guy who can't walk in her shoes.
Which should be no surprise to anyone, the main tactics of the commie/liberal/progressives is to basically call names, mock and marginalize their opponents because coming up with better ideas is to hard.

Real healthcare reforms, stimulating the economy, reducing dependency and less government intrusion into our lives be damned all they want to do is marginalize the paraplegic guy.

Wendys Foot Meets Bullet

With the revelations of Wendy Davis' less than honest "personal story" starting to hit it's a sure bet that other items are sure to squeak out.

Such as this.

Wendy Davis’ Ex Asked a Court to Order Her Not to Use Drugs Before Seeing Her Kids
News has broken that Wendy Davis lied about her background. She is now playing victim blaming Greg Abbott.
It is her ex-husband who talked to a left-of-center Dallas reporter. It is also her ex-husband who asked a Texas District Court to issue a temporary restraining order against Wendy Davis in 2003.
In that order, the judge ordered that Wendy Davis “be immediately restrained from . . . using illegal drugs or consuming alcohol within 24 hours before or during the period of possession of or access to the child.”
Speaking of the child, at the time her daughter requested her father serve as her managing conservator.
~snip~
Of course she knows how to fight back, the liberal/progressive democrat party way.

Wendy Davis Slams Pro-Life Paraplegic Opponent: He’s “Never Walked In My Shoes”
It’s just getting worse and worse for abortion activist Wendy Davis, who is falling on her own sword in the Texas gubernatorial race.
First, Davis was caught by a Dallas newspaper lying about her story of being a single mom who overcame adversity. Then, she sought to blame her problems on pro-life candidate for governor Greg Abbott. Now, in attacking Abbot, she’s stuck her foot in her mouth saying he’s “never walked a mile in my shoes.”
Problem is, Abbott can’t. He’s a paraplegic who is confined to a wheelchair.~snip~
We all know what the commie/liberal medias response would be if the situation was reversed but since they're not we can only deal with this as a "local story". Unlike Wendy's grandstanding advocacy for extending a woman's right to abort a child  within moments of birth and fighting against tighter control of abortion clinics to prevent another Kermit Gosnell type of situation.
Which for some reason merited national attention.......go figure.
Hopefully the good citizens of Texas are paying attention.

Obama's Fantasy About Football...and other Things

It seems that if Obama had a mythical son he would look like Trayvon Martin and not be allowed to play football.

Obama would not let his son play football
Washington (CNN) - As the Patriots, Broncos, Seahawks and 49ers prepare to battle for two spots in the Super Bowl, President Barack Obama says if he had a son, he wouldn’t let him play pro football.
With an ever-growing amount of evidence linking the brutal sport with serious head and brain trauma, the President, who has two daughters, told New Yorker editor David Remnick he would bar his son from playing the sport. "I would not let my son play pro football," Obama reportedly said.
Since he doesn't have sons then he'll never have to face that decision, will he?
So why should any of us who have sons really care what his opinion on it is? Obama certainly has a lot of fantasies about what he'll do without having any practical experience.
Like deciding for everyone else what kind of healthcare we're entitled to even though he has no practical experience in either healthcare nor insurance.
Like making decisions about the military without any practical experience with serving his country.
Oh hell, or even like being president with no practical experience at being a leader.

Every last bit of advice or opinions he has on anything comes from almost no experience on the subject.
So he can take his mythical son and football and pound sand.

The Real Abortion Barbie

In a surprising turn of events a liberal media outlet has actually looked into some information put out by a democrat candidate.

Even though they tried to soft pedal the distortions of Wendy Davis' personal story, the discrepancies haven't gone unnoticed.

Dallas Morning News shines bright light on Wendy Davis's storytelling
On Sunday the Dallas Morning News shined a very bright light on gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis and, it was in what was alluded to, that shows her in the most negative way. The darling of the left - who is referred to as "Abortion Barbie" by her detractors - has admitted that some factoids about her past were not as "tight" as they should have been. At first it was the team from Republican Greg Abbott that was calling a time out on her pulling at the heart strings background; however, now the DMN has launched a similar action.~snip~
Some of the highlights from the linked article follow.

  • Davis recently testified in a federal lawsuit over redistricting; records show her comments to be: “I had a baby. I got divorced by the time I was 19 years old. After I got divorced, I lived in a mobile home park in southeast Fort Worth.” According to public records, Davis was in fact divorced from her first husband at the age of 21 which means that she, as a Harvard educated lawyer, lied in her testimony in the federal lawsuit.
  • At the age of 23, she married an attorney, Jeff Davis who was 13 years older than she. He paid for the completion of her degree at Texas Christian University, cashed in his 401(k), and took out a loan to pay for her education once she was accepted at Harvard. Davis left her second husband days after he paid off the loan on her education. According to the DMN article: Jeff Davis said that was right around the time the final payment on their Harvard Law School loan was due. “It was ironic,” he said. “I made the last payment, and it was the next day she left.”
  • While Davis was in Boston attending Harvard, her husband raised her first-born daughter by another man and the daughter she shared with Jeff Davis.
  • Under the terms of the divorce, her husband received custody and she was required to pay $1,200 per month in child support.
  • A colleague and political supporter that has worked with Davis stated in the DMN article:
“Wendy is tremendously ambitious,” he said, speaking only on condition of anonymity in order to give what he called an honest assessment. “She’s not going to let family or raising children or anything else get in her way. He said: “She’s going to find a way, and she’s going to figure out a way to spin herself in a way that grabs at the heart strings. A lot of it isn’t true about her, but that’s just us who knew her."
For those in the media who don't know this is called "vetting" a candidate. Something we were denied by the Obama worshiping press prior to the last 2 presidential elections.
This also shows that the image that progressive/liberal democrats try and project to the public isn't necessarily the truth. Which is why it's so difficult for voters to arrive at an informed decision as to who they want to represent them.

Life for Sale

This is something that has always baffled me, not that the medical community has largely been opposed to paying for organs for transplant.
Why would they possibly want to cut into their profit margin?
What is baffling is why the public hasn't demanded it.
The points in this article are pretty persuasive.

Cash for Kidneys: The Case for a Market for Organs
In 2012, 95,000 American men, women and children were on the waiting list for new kidneys, the most commonly transplanted organ. Yet only about 16,500 kidney transplant operations were performed that year. Taking into account the number of people who die while waiting for a transplant, this implies an average wait of 4.5 years for a kidney transplant in the U.S.
The situation is far worse than it was just a decade ago, when nearly 54,000 people were on the waiting list, with an average wait of 2.9 years. For all the recent attention devoted to the health-care overhaul, the long and growing waiting times for tens of thousands of individuals who badly need organ transplants hasn't been addressed.
Finding a way to increase the supply of organs would reduce wait times and deaths, and it would greatly ease the suffering that many sick individuals now endure while they hope for a transplant. The most effective change, we believe, would be to provide compensation to people who give their organs—that is, we recommend establishing a market for organs.~snip~
I think the squeamishness on "moral" grounds are pretty much a smoke screen. A good number of people have no problem with the free marketing of death in the form of abortion clinics nor choice when it comes to deciding on what to do with their body for the same. So why should an adult deciding to be compensated for their organs to be used in transplantation be any less of a right to "my body,my choice"?
At least in this case an argument can be made that lives are being saved and health improved.

Protections can be built in to give the donor an opportunity to truly consider what they are doing but in the final analysis what it truly comes down to is "my body,my choice".

Our Continuing Decline

After 6 years of Obama in office and liberal progressives pushing a nonsensical agenda things continue to look bleak for the American labor market.

SEVEN DEVASTATING ECONOMIC FACTS
U.S. economic conditions in 2014 continue to languish, as millions of Americans remain jobless. Seven economic facts underscore America’s increasingly dire economic outlook.
1. A Record 91.8 Million Americans Are No Longer in the Workforce
The latest Labor Department figures reveal that a record 91.8 million Americans are no longer in the U.S. labor force. To be included in the Labor Department's calculations for this statistic, a person must be 16 years or older, a civilian, not in an institution (such as prison), and someone who has not looked for a job in the last four weeks.
Minorities have been hit especially hard. As Dean Baker of the Center for Economic and Policy Research noted to PBS, last month’s jobs report also saw “the lowest rate of labor force participation among African-American men since we have kept that count. So that was really striking.”
According to the U.S. Census, 317 million people live in the United States.
2. Since Jan. 2009, the Number of Jobless Working-Age Americans Has Risen 9.6 Million People~snip~
Read it and weep. In a very short time we've gone from "hope and change" to desperation and despair with 3 more miserable years of this presidency to go.
To many Americans are buying the progressive lie that income inequality is caused by the rich and for some reason can't see the truth that the Obama regime has squashed opportunity at every turn in order to create dependency.
All to hold onto power in Washington.

More Obamacare Pain on the Way

With more of Obama's broken promises on the way the New York Times seems appalled that democrats might be held accountable.

Ads Attacking Health Law Stagger Outspent Democrats
WASHINGTON — Democrats are increasingly anxious about an onslaught of television ads hitting vulnerable Senate and House candidates for their support of the new health law, since many lack the resources to fight back in the early stages of the midterm campaign.
Since September, Americans for Prosperity, a group financed in part by the billionaire Koch brothers, has spent an estimated $20 million on television advertising that calls out House and Senate Democrats by name for their support of the Affordable Care Act.
The unusually aggressive early run of television ads, which has been supplemented by other conservative initiatives, has gone largely unanswered, and strategists in both parties agree it is taking a toll on its targets.

Building on the success, the deep-pocketed organization disclosed on Tuesday that it was expanding its Senate efforts with $1.8 million in airtime to attack Democratic House members running for the Senate in Iowa and Michigan, where Democrats are viewed as holding an early advantage. The group was also moving into Montana, a state where Democrats may struggle to defend a seat, on behalf of a Republican House member running for the Senate.
Campaign experts said they believe that the early advertising blitz has driven down the support for Senate incumbents in highly competitive states such as Louisiana and North Carolina that are critical to the Democratic Party’s push to hold its majority.~snip~
Of course the spin here is that it's the "evil" Koch brothers who are financing this attack on vulnerable democrats by pointing out the fact that each one of them supported and voted for a job killing, economy destroying piece of legislation regardless of the damage it does.

Seems to me if they were so proud to vote for it they shouldn't have any problem owning it and having it pointed out to voters every chance they get.
They should be thankful to the Koch brothers for reminding everyone.

The Great Shrinking Labor Force

Normally one of the first things people think of when others are having financial difficulty is to counsel them to get a job.
Well at least that was the way it used to be before Obama and the democrats lied their way into office and then proceeded to destroy the economy.
The job market has been shrinking steadily under Obama  to the point that some people have been out of the job market so long that most employers, who are being squeezed by Obamacare mandates and regulations, can't financially take a chance hiring someone with rusty job skills.
Others are so discouraged or close enough to retirement that they have dropped out of the job market altogether.

People Not In Labor Force Soar To Record 91.8 Million; Participation Rate Plunges To 1978 Levels
Curious why despite the huge miss in payrolls the unemployment rate tumbled from 7.0% to 6.7%? The reason is because in December the civilian labor force did what it usually does in the New Normal: it dropped from 155.3 million to 154.9 million, which means the labor participation rate just dropped to a fresh 35 year low, hitting levels not seen since 1978, at 62.8% down from 63.0%.~snip~
Have no fear though because the democrats got your back.
Their solution is to pull back on employer mandates and work to come up with a solution to Obamacare.....OK I'm just kidding.
Their answer is to expand unemployment insurance into what looks like perpetuity.

Reid backs down in unemployment fight
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says he is now open to considering Republican amendments to a bill extending emergency unemployment benefits through most of 2014.
On Thursday, Reid clashed with several Republicans after saying he didn't want to consider any changes to an amended version of the bill. Reid's amendment paid for an 11-month extension by extending the sequester for another year, into 2024.
Republicans have other ideas on how to pay for the benefits, but Reid dismissed them.~snip~
Democrats aren't the only ones to blame here the republican minority should be fighting hard trying to find ways to get government out of the way so businesses can grow and hire more.
What we are witnessing is government at its most successful, expanding itself and creating dependency to justify its ever expanding reach.

Advancing Marxism

A lot of people seemed to be surprised about the article in Rolling Stone that advanced Marxist ideals, as they should be mostly because government is an extremely poor steward of how public moneys is spent.

One of the ideas advanced was:
#2. Social Security for All
But let's think even bigger. Because as much as unemployment blows, so do jobs. What if people didn't have to work to survive? Enter the jaw-droppingly simple idea of a universal basic income, in which the government would just add a sum sufficient for subsistence to everyone's bank account every month. A proposal along these lines has been gaining traction in Switzerland, and it's starting to get a lot of attention here, too.
We live in the age of 3D printers and self-replicating robots. Actual human workers are increasingly surplus to requirement – that's one major reason why we have such a big unemployment problem. A universal basic income would address this epidemic at the root and provide everyone, in the words of Duke professor Kathi Weeks, "time to cultivate new needs for pleasures, activities, senses, passions, affects, and socialities that exceed the options of working and saving, producing and accumulating."
Put another way: A universal basic income, combined with a job guarantee and other social programs, could make participation in the labor force truly voluntary, thereby enabling people to get a life.
It seems that this battle is pretty much lost, I mean how is extending unemployment benefits into perpetuity any different than a universal income?

In surprise move, unemployment benefits advance
The Senate begins an even tougher task after a surprise vote on Tuesday to break a GOP filibuster of legislation extending unemployment benefits.
That is: finding a way to pay for the measure.
Democrats were able to secure six Republican votes to advance the three-month extension of unemployment benefits, nabbing just the 60 votes that are necessary to move ahead. But now they must work with centrist Republicans to strike a bipartisan accord that would offset the legislation’s $6.5 billion cost, a tall task in a Senate still brimming with partisan divisions.
But it’s not at all clear that the Republicans who sided with Democrats to break the filibuster will vote for final passage. Two of them said Tuesday they would most likely oppose it without the offsets they are seeking.~nip~
The goals of leftists don't necessarily have to spelled out in plain English, they have been very adept at using what's already there to advance their agenda.

Beating Back the Liberal Bullies

I caught this segment last night on the "Kelly File" and Weasel Zippers posted the YouTube with some comments about it noting the name calling by leftards Michael Hiltzik of the LA Times and Amanda Marcotte of Slate.
I understand that anything about Christianity drives liberals into uncontrolled fits of head exploding rage but once you get an understanding of the Little Sisters of the Poor for the Aged then I would think anyone with a appreciation for Christian charity would be appalled that someone would go out of their way to call names.

The only good thing that seems to be happening is the blow back that these unrepentant bullies and haters are receiving for their vicious attacks against people who either disagree with them or attempt to follow their deeply held and sincere beliefs.
Some are actually being held accountable like Martin Bashir for his attacks against Sarah Palin or A&E for trying to censor Phil Robertson's religious beliefs.
Just today Melissa Harris-Perry whimpered an apology for shamelessly attacking Mitt Romney's adopted grandchild.

There's been some hopeful signs that people are just getting tired of the constant mocking and insults from liberal/commies attempting to force their worldview on the rest of us.
This would be good news ordinarily if conservatives had a political party that reflected their views but unfortunately all we have is republicans and their leadership who are bound and determined to try and "mainstream" themselves to reflect very few differences between tyranny on the left or right.
Karl Rove and his syncophants believe that however they warp the party conservatives will have to support them because we have no where else to go. So their next offering will be some milquetoast RINO just like they gave us for the last 2 presidential elections.
It looks like we're going to be fighting 2 battles in the midterms and the next presidential elections, beating back the hateful liberal left and the intransigent weenies of the republican party.

Rolling Stone wants to Revive the USSR

Most of my life we fought the cold war to prevent the expansion of communist tyranny.

Now we have some people and publications actually advocating for it's revival right here in the U.S..

Five Economic Reforms Millennials Should Be Fighting For
It's a new year, but one thing hasn't changed: The economy still blows. Five years after Wall Street crashed, America's banker-gamblers have only gotten richer, while huge swaths of the country are still drowning in personal debt, tens of millions of Americans remain unemployed – and the new jobs being created are largely low-wage, sub-contracted, part-time grunt work.
Millennials have been especially hard-hit by the downturn, which is probably why so many people in this generation (like myself) regard capitalism with a level of suspicion that would have been unthinkable a decade ago. But that egalitarian impulse isn't often accompanied by concrete proposals about how to get out of this catastrophe. Here are a few things we might want to start fighting for, pronto, if we want to grow old in a just, fair society, rather than the economic hellhole our parents have handed us.~snip~
The USSR had all this and tried to force it on others and they basically collapsed because it didn't work. Also they murdered and oppressed millions which seems to happen every time communism is forced on a country.
The Soviet Union couldn't even harvest enough wheat on its collectivist farms to feed their own people, so what did they do?
They turned to the evil capitalist Americans.
If we go full blown communist then who the hell will we turn to?
There used to be a time where people who advocated for this kind of thing were marginalized and sometimes monitored by the FBI. Nowadays they are given legitimacy by mainstream publications.
Making them both dangers to humanity.

Putting the Brakes on "Global Warming"

These are some of the headlines on Drudge tonight. Sorry but I'm not seeing a whole lot of warming.
I've been breathing air for close to 60 years and lived in the northeast for quite a bit of that and the truth is winter has always been cold.
Some years were colder than others and some warmer, in cycles. Unfortunately the followers of the church of Al Gore the I won't be dissuaded by the cyclic character of weather patterns because the scientific "consensus" is built on grant money.
Whoever lies the best about preconceived results get the most and this is what liberal/commies want to base the redistribution of wealth based on carbon credits on.

In the mean time the weather continues on in cycles oblivious to the acolytes of the church of Al Gore the I and their constant crying for Gia in an attempt to extort tax payers money.

Gays Shocked Someone Could be Fired for their Beliefs

I read this rambling post at deadspin this morning and just knew the usual suspects would come crawling out of their internet holes for a dose of mind numbing hypocrisy.

I Was An NFL Player Until I Was Fired By Two Cowards And A Bigot

It's a long read but in a nutshell Chris Kluwe, the former punter for the Minnesota Vikings claims he was fired by big meanies because he spoke out for gay marriage. Oh and he also allegedly had to suffer through hateful mean talk about gays....so he says.

The Vikings are of course investigating in order to hold off the professional grievance groups who will call for the heads of everyone involved culminating in re-education camps.

Because being an advocate for gay marriage just has to be the only reason he was let go...right?
Not so fast, here's an article from ESPN (not exactly a "right wing" cheerleader) that lays out the real reasons that Kluwes time may have been up for the vikings.

Most important of Chris Kluwe's allegations
~snip~From the top, Kluwe was not released in April 2013 solely because he advocated for gay rights, no matter the portrait he painted in the piece. A more objective explanation, as we discussed at the time, would note that he was a 31-year-old veteran who had produced a below-average performance in 2012 based on the criteria the Vikings most valued. He was entering the final year of his contract, one that carried no salary cap hit if he were released, and was playing for a team that had been systematically replacing older players with younger ones.
If anything, Kluwe's advocacy was the final push off the plank. Fair or otherwise, NFL teams don't have much tolerance for middling performers who draw more attention off the field than on it, be it for social causes or television commercials. Kluwe's stated confidence that his "activism was the reason I got fired" is a convenient storyline, one that has already drawn a great deal of attention, but it isn't supported by the full set of facts.~snip~
Once again it would seem that a business decision was made entirely independent of the accusations.
Were "homophobic" slurs uttered?
He "says" they were but until it's verified by the Vikings investigation everyone needs to take a deep breath. I mean lets face it, the track record on these kinds of allegations ain't that good.

I got a feeling that the half life on this, another allegation and faux outrage, won't be near as long as they used to be.

Like a Dog With a Bone

I remember seeing this in the wake of the velvet mafias attempt to lie, manipulate and extort A&E over the comments made by Phil Robertson in the GQ hit piece about Duck Dynasty.

After trying to distort what the guy actually said, even though the article was there for all the world to see, they pretty much got spanked in the arena of public opinion after A&E backed down.
For whatever reason.

Of course the militant gay agitators couldn't let it go and pick another battle, they immediately started to scour the web looking for some kind of smoking gun to use against Phil Robertson.
This is the best they could find.

DUCK HUNT: CNN FABRICATES NEW PHIL ROBERTSON CONTROVERSY
Even though CNN's phony controversy hasn't even been able to pick up traction at MSNBC, that hasn't stopped the left-wing cable news network from attempting to manufacture more trouble for Phil Robertson and "Duck Dynasty." But why would we expect anything less from the same network that fabricated evidence to frame a working-class Hispanic man?
The CNN report below, covering Robertson's humorous relaying of marriage advice, is taken ultra-seriously by the CNN correspondent, and asks, "What is the tipping point to getting kicked off the air?"
Does CNN not hear the crowd laughing? It is obvious that Robertson is going for laughs. That doesn't mean he isn't trying to make a point (his wife was 16 when they married) but there is no question he is performing and exaggerating to entertain a crowd that is entertained.~snip~
A little tongue in cheek marital advice that nobody is taking seriously.
Well except for the the same group that tells everybody what morality and Christianity really is, you know those ultra tolerant  gays rights activists.
How have we gotten to the point that the least moral and Christian among us are defining what it is to be either?
What's really funny is that despite they're proclamations of evil wrong doing, again, the video is available and people can make their own determination about it.
Hair is being pulled and teeth are being gnashed and no one cares.

The New Year in a Nutshell

While everyone else is out there wishing a happy new year all I've been able to do is reflect back on how topsy turvy  things have become. Yet some things remain the same, for instance liberal democrats are still racists just like they were before and after the civil war.
At one time people who lived a Christian and moral life believing in the word of God where desirable traits, not so much anymore.
Which is why we have liars for politicians, because once morality has become relative they can replace opinion for truth. You know....like the media does...all the time.
In my opinion how good 2014 is will be determined by the elections in November, if the democrats are held accountable for their malfeasance then it's possible that there will be hope yet.
