So far, NBC News finds Brian Williams embellished at least 11 times

A months-long internal investigation of Brian Williams by NBC News has turned up 11 instances in which the anchorman publicly embellished details of his reporting exploits, according to a person familiar with details of the probe. 

NBC undertook the examination of Williams’ statement after he apologized in early February for saying on “NBC Nightly News” that a military helicopter in which he was traveling at the start of the Iraq War had been damaged by rocket fire. His account was challenged by soldiers who were on the flight, leading to a furor that prompted NBC to suspend Williams for six months without pay and to investigate other statements he’s made. 

The Iraq claim was one of the 11 suspect statements that a team of NBC News journalists has identified during the inquiry, said the individual, who asked not to be identified because he isn’t authorized to talk about an internal matter. 

The investigators, led by NBC News senior executive producer Richard Esposito, have also raised doubts about Williams’ comments about his experiences covering Israel’s military action against Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2006. In an interview with a student-run television station at Fairfield University in Connecticut in 2007, Williams said he saw rockets passing “just beneath” the Israel helicopter in which he was traveling. But Williams gave a less harrowing account of the same trip in an NBC News blog a year earlier.~snip~

Deception is the liberal/commie medias strategy through distortion,embellishment or omission. The unique thing about Brian Williams is that he got caught so now we have a window into the non-stop propaganda machine that is the "main stream media".
If Brian Williams is forced out the problem will not have been solved. The media needs to be purged of all the self-promoting leftists and honest journalists put in their places.

Williams, 55, posed as just another seemingly carefree guy out for a walk with his family — all while readily smiling for the camera, cuddling his starlet daughter’s young golden retriever, Moxie.
He was joined by his wife, Jane Stoddard Williams, to celebrate his “Girls’’ actress daughter’s 27th birthday near her Chelsea apartment. The sappy, made-for-TV moment prompted speculation that he’s ready to return to the public eye and try to reclaim his chair behind the network’s news desk.~snip~

I suppose if Hillary Clinton can try and pass herself off as "just regular folk" then Brian can deflect the public with a puppy.

Brian Williams gets caught in multiple lies so obviously some commie/liberal journalist has to find a "right wing" offender to equivocate the sin to.
So one of the least respected libtard publications floats a Bill Or'Reilly story. A few other leftist websites pick it up to pretty much a big yawn.
I'm not really a fan of O'Reilly's but his response was pretty good  and the 2 situations are not equivalent.
Williams was busted by troops who were there, Mother Jones relies on others working in the media to get their "gotcha" story. Seeing as how "journalists" have already shown themselves to be self serving liars there really isn't much legs to this.
Now we got the "Giuliani" scandal and judging by the last midterms I would say he's not the only one who wonders about Obama's loyalty to America.
A look at the last 6 years of his "presidency" would give most people pause to wonder the same things.

In all fairness he was in Iraq and a helicopter was hit by an RPG.

Can NBC News now have any credibility with Brian Williams as its face?

If credibility means anything to NBC News, Brian Williams will no longer be managing editor and anchor of the evening newscast by the end of the day Friday.
The admission from Williams Wednesday that he lied about being in a Chinook helicopter that was hit by enemy fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 is astonishing. And he only admitted the lie after being confronted with it by the military publication, "Stars and Stripes," which has a well-documented report and timeline showing his shifting version of events over the years.

The real question is how the liberal/commie/media has maintained any credibility over the years starting with Walter Cronkite's fabrication that we got our asses handed to us during the Tet offensive, Dan Rather lying about George W. Bush's National Guard service to Candy Crowley running interference for Obama in the debates. The medias contempt for it's viewers couldn't be any plainer.
Who knows how many we don't know about.

Which is the entire point of Williams being caught in an out and out lie.
These guys set themselves up as not only reporters but the gate keepers of public opinion.
A lot is being written on the why's of Williams deception with most missing the mark entirely. The liberal medias modern existence depends on deception in order to push the liberal/democrat agenda.

Stories like this are an attempt by the ideologically driven to inoculate themselves from criticism for their anti-war,anti-troops sentiment. A way for them to say that they can't be criticized because they too have risked life and limb. We are simply being played by the media.
The good news is that with the internet those who actually know the truth can get it out there calling out the "trusted names in news" and making them accountable. They no longer control the narrative.
