Now we have some people and publications actually advocating for it's revival right here in the U.S..

Five Economic Reforms Millennials Should Be Fighting For

It's a new year, but one thing hasn't changed: The economy still blows. Five years after Wall Street crashed, America's banker-gamblers have only gotten richer, while huge swaths of the country are still drowning in personal debt, tens of millions of Americans remain unemployed – and the new jobs being created are largely low-wage, sub-contracted, part-time grunt work.
Millennials have been especially hard-hit by the downturn, which is probably why so many people in this generation (like myself) regard capitalism with a level of suspicion that would have been unthinkable a decade ago. But that egalitarian impulse isn't often accompanied by concrete proposals about how to get out of this catastrophe. Here are a few things we might want to start fighting for, pronto, if we want to grow old in a just, fair society, rather than the economic hellhole our parents have handed us.~snip~

The USSR had all this and tried to force it on others and they basically collapsed because it didn't work. Also they murdered and oppressed millions which seems to happen every time communism is forced on a country.
The Soviet Union couldn't even harvest enough wheat on its collectivist farms to feed their own people, so what did they do?
They turned to the evil capitalist Americans.
If we go full blown communist then who the hell will we turn to?
There used to be a time where people who advocated for this kind of thing were marginalized and sometimes monitored by the FBI. Nowadays they are given legitimacy by mainstream publications.
Making them both dangers to humanity.

I am truly confused by the cult of atheism.

Atheists unveil monument by Ten Commandments

STARKE, Fla. –  A group of atheists unveiled a monument to their nonbelief in God on Saturday to sit alongside a granite slab that lists the Ten Commandments in front of the Bradford County courthouse.
As a small group of protesters blasted Christian country music and waved ‘‘Honk for Jesus’’ signs, the atheists celebrated what they believe is the first atheist monument allowed on government property in the United States.
‘‘When you look at this monument, the first thing you will notice is that it has a function. Atheists are about the real and the physical, so we selected to place this monument in the form of a bench,’’ said David Silverman, president of American Atheists.
It also serves another function — a counter to the religious monument that the New Jersey-based group wanted removed. It’s a case of if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.~snip~

How is erecting a monument not a religious act?
My understanding is the purpose of erecting a monument is to symbolize a reverence for a place or an ideal.

Will atheists conduct pilgrimages to the site to stand in silent ambivalence to the idea of a creator?
The idea of erecting a monument to nothing to counteract a monument to faith seems to me to be so empty as to be meaningless.
Which is kind of stupid when you think about it.
It ain't a competition guys, either you believe or you don't, all you're doing now is making asses out of yourselves.

So Were's Darwin?

You know what really kills me about liberal democrats?
They're all about Darwin and the survival of the fittest when it comes to undermining peoples religious beliefs. But they get a little squeamish when it comes down to actually culling the herd.

Texting while walking? Nevada assemblyman moves to ban it

LAS VEGAS -- Harvey Munford has heard a lot of talk about the dangers of texting while driving. Now the Nevada assemblyman wants to focus on what he considers an equally perilous scourge: texting while walking, especially across a busy street.
Munford (D-Las Vegas) on Thursday introduced Assembly Bill 123, saying the new law could be applied not to just urban streets but to all state roads, even in residential neighborhoods.
The penalty for offenders: a pricey ticket, including $250 for a third offense. First-timers would get a warning.
Nevada is following the town of Fort Lee, N.J., which last year issued a ban against texting while crossing the street.
Munford told the Los Angeles Times that he began watching for the practice while behind the wheel last year after a complaint by a constituent.
“I was just amazed by what I saw,” he said. “So many people are almost oblivious. They are texting and texting, totally unaware as they cross even six-lane highways.”
He said young people are the biggest offenders.
“When kids get out of school, where they’ve been banned from using their phones all day, they go immediately to their texts,” he told The Times. “I’ve seen several close calls myself where people have almost been hit. Kids are so addicted to those things. It’s almost become a plague.”~snip~

I remember from a very early age having it drilled into me that when I go to cross a street to stop and look both ways to make sure the way is clear before crossing.
But a liberal democrat will see people walking across the street looking at their cell phone and the first thing that enters his mind is that there ought a be a law.

How has it come to point in this country that common sense needs to be legislated? How many activities need to be regulated and a fine levied for simply being stupid?
I mean even John Kerry says we got a right to be stupid in this country.
How about we just go back to teaching children to stop and look before crossing the street again like we used to do in the olden days, so we can avoid that slippery slope of banning sipping on sodas or eating while walking.
Or here's a thought, if teenagers can't cross and text responsibly how about parents just take their cell phones away?
