Typhoon Maysak: Dramatic photos taken from space show category-five storm moving towards Philippines

Astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) have taken dramatic photos showing super Typhoon Maysak as it moves towards the Philippines.

Micronesia Red Cross says the typhoon has killed at least nine people — all in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) — as it has swept across the north-west Pacific. 

Samantha Cristoforetti, an Italian astronaut, photographed the category-five storm system as the ISS passed over the Pacific.~snip~
