What a Waste

Every time you go to work and sweat, strain. work overtime and struggle to pay your bills remember that the government has so little contempt for your labor.

They confiscate part of your pay to waste it.

Little Rock VA Hospital Tears Down Never-Used Solar Panels
Two years after being completed, $8-million-worth of solar panels at a Little Rock, Ark., Veterans Affairs hospital have never been turned on, and now the hospital is tearing down some of the panels.
A chunk of the roughly 7,000 inactive solar panels outside the Little Rock Veterans Affairs Hospital was recently dismantled to make way for a new parking garage, Little Rock news outlet KATV reports:
The panels are being taken down for the construction of a parking garage. Channel 7 News obtained video of some of the panels being torn down last week. The panels will eventually be relocated to the top of that parking garage.
The Central Arkansas VA would not release the estimated cost to construct the panels and then later deconstruct them, calling it “procurement sensitive information”, because the parking garage contract is ongoing.~snip~
What's really galling is that they feel no need to disclose the costs to us peasants because in their mind it's their money.

Now it's Two Times the Hysteria

You do realize of course that for the liberal MSM there will be no further events in the world until the Arkansas and Indiana legislatures buckle under to their demands.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Despite intensifying criticism from business leaders both within and outside of Arkansas, the state legislature on Tuesday passed its version of a measure billed as a religious freedom law, joining Indiana in a swirl of controversy that shows little sign of calming.
The Arkansas bill, passed when the General Assembly concurred on three amendments from the State Senate, now goes to the state’s Republican governor, Asa Hutchinson, who expressed reservations about an earlier bill but more recently said he would sign the measure if it “reaches my desk in similar form as to what has been passed in 20 other states.” The Arkansas Senate passed the measure last week.
While there were several attempts up until the last minute to add a clause to the bill that would explicitly bar discrimination of gays and lesbians, a measure that Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana pledged to push through his Legislature, the sponsors of the bill in the Arkansas General Assembly rejected such moves.
”If you start shaving out exemptions in laws, next thing you know, you’ll gut the law because everyone will want an exemption,” said State Senator Bart Hester, an Arkansas Republican and one of the bill’s lead supporters.
The attention turns to Governor Hutchinson, a moderate Republican who ran on a jobs platform and managed to extend a tailored form of Medicaid expansion in this Republican-controlled state. One of the state’s biggest employers, Walmart, called on the governor to veto the bill.~snip~
Scandal after scandal with this administration and there's crickets from the liberal media yet when states reassert the 1st amendment they go bugshit.

Local Arkansas Media Appalled by Bigot Parents

This was posted at WeaselZippers under the title, Arkansas Teacher Attempts To Sneak Muslim Speaker In To Her Class On 9/11, Shocked To Learn Parents Not Happy About It….
Which is true but after viewing the news "report" my take on it was a little different.
The reporting seems pretty biased against the parents who were opposed to having their children lectured by a Muslim on 9/11.
Most of the video leans sympathetically towards the "different point of view" position as opposed to why parents might be concerned about their children being forced to hear one side only on the anniversary of a terror attack by the very people who hold the same view as the speaker.

The only opposing interview they have is by one "anonymous" parent, as if they wouldn't or couldn't find others who were willing to share their opposition openly. The inference being that anyone who opposes the talk are cowards. It's not just what the media says that's biased, it's how they present it.
Reporting facts seems to be just as hard on the local level as it is on the national level.

Companies Pushing Amnesty for Short Term Exploitation

57.5 million Americans either looking for work or forced out of the labor market and these companies want to open the borders.

Cheesecake Factory, Hallmark, Disney, and Others Now Pushing Amnesty
Officials representing over 100 corporate interests issued a letter to Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) demanding the legalization of 11 million illegal aliens and increased legal immigration through the creation of new visa programs. As these companies put it in their letter:
[W]e strongly support efforts to bolster the availability of a workforce at all skills levels, through a separate visa program as well as by creating a path to legal status for those already here.
The companies include well-known names like Hallmark Cards, Disney, CVS, the Cheesecake Factory, American Airlines, Wendy's, McDonald's, the Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, AT&T, UPS, Rubbermaid, and McCormick spices — just to name a few examples.
These companies cite a recent Congressional Budget Office report, arguing that the Senate bill would grow the economy. They conveniently left out the CBO estimate that even though the amnesty might make the economy larger, it would simultaneously make American workers poorer by lowering the wages of American workers for a decade or more. The companies claim the bill is an "opportunity to level the playing field for U.S. employers" but it is more of an effort to level the wages of American citizens.~snip~
A list of the companies pushing for this is at the link.
I lived in Fort Smith Arkansas in the mid 80's and they were inundated with Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians after being housed at Fort Chaffee, not all left the area after their screenings and the chicken plants that were owned by Tyson and OK foods hired these immigrants by the hundreds.
These plants originally came to the area to exploit the residents living there with poor wages and working conditions because there wasn't a whole lot of jobs at the time.
As the city grew some and better opportunities arose the chicken plants found it harder to find residents willing to work for them. The immigrants from Fort Chaffee where a gold mine for them, the Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians (who were not fluent in english) were glad to come and work for them for what they offered because their opportunities were very limited.
Truth is it only lasted for a generation or so as most of their children learned english, became better educated and took advantage of better opportunities.
The population of Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians has gone down considerably over the years and to fill the gap the aforementioned chicken plants turned to illegal aliens from Mexico. Whatever the legal outcomes the point is that there are a lot of companies out there that want to import labor because it's cheap at first. For them it's worth it to keep wages low for a few years and then move on to the next group when workers expectations rise.
If we continue to grant amnesty then the issue of illegal immigration will never go away because some businesses will always look for the next wave to take advantage of.
If we want a future for our children and grandchildren then the line must be drawn.

Not News, Clinton Foundation is Sleezy

The news is that the New York Times wrote a story on it.

Unease at Clinton Foundation Over Finances and Ambitions
Soon after the 10th anniversary of the foundation bearing his name, Bill Clinton met with a small group of aides and two lawyers from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Two weeks of interviews with Clinton Foundation executives and former employees had led the lawyers to some unsettling conclusions.
The review echoed criticism of Mr. Clinton’s early years in the White House: For all of its successes, the Clinton Foundation had become a sprawling concern, supervised by a rotating board of old Clinton hands, vulnerable to distraction and threatened by conflicts of interest. It ran multimillion-dollar deficits for several years, despite vast amounts of money flowing in.
And concern was rising inside and outside the organization about Douglas J. Band, a onetime personal assistant to Mr. Clinton who had started a lucrative corporate consulting firm — which Mr. Clinton joined as a paid adviser — while overseeing the Clinton Global Initiative, the foundation’s glitzy annual gathering of chief executives, heads of state, and celebrities.~snip~
The Telegraph does a better job of translating the NYT's newspeak into plainer language.

The New York Times takes down the Clinton Foundation. This could be devastating for Bill and Hillary

Anybody who's lived in Arkansas for any time knows that the kind of "good old boy" politics that the Clintons practice was finely honed during Bills time as governor.
What's really interesting is the appropriation of the foundation as a base of operations for Hillary.
In the coming months, as Mrs. Clinton mulls a 2016 presidential bid, the foundation could also serve as a base for her to home in on issues and to build up a stable of trusted staff members who could form the core of a political campaign.
Mrs. Clinton’s staff at the foundation’s headquarters includes Maura Pally, a veteran aide who advised her 2008 presidential campaign and worked at the State Department, and Madhuri Kommareddi, a former policy aide to President Obama.
Dennis Cheng, Mrs. Clinton’s deputy chief of protocol at the State Department and a finance director of her presidential campaign, will oversee the endowment drive, which some of the Clintons’ donors already describe as a dry run for 2016.
And Mrs. Clinton’s personal staff of roughly seven people — including Huma Abedin, wife of the New York mayoral candidate Anthony D. Weiner — will soon relocate from a cramped Washington office to the foundation’s headquarters. They will work on organizing Mrs. Clinton’s packed schedule of paid speeches to trade groups and awards ceremonies and assist in the research and writing of Mrs. Clinton’s memoir about her time at the State Department, to be published by Simon & Schuster next summer.
That right there begs the question that, seeing as how the Clinton Foundation is listed as a 501(c)930 organization, if Hillary runs in 2015 for president will the Foundation get the same scrutiny as Tea Party aligned organizations do?

Something Extra to Pay for with Your Tuition

Yup, that's right mons and dads, here's what you get when you send your daughters off to college in Arkansas.

DOJ pressures university to allow 38-year old man access to women’s restrooms

Watch out, you ladies at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith: Those feet under the stall next to you might just belong to a 38-year-old man.
Despite opposition from female students, UAFS has decided on “advice of counsel” to allow a 38-year-old anatomically-male, transgendered student access to the women’s bathrooms on campus.
According to a report from the conservative Campus Reform, the university decided to reverse its transgender policy after receiving a letter from the Department of Justice. The school’s initial solution was to allow the man to use gender-neutral bathrooms instead of the women’s restrooms, and to offer to convert more bathrooms into gender-neutral areas.
“Because of the stance we took, the individual filed a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights in the Department of Justice,” Mark Horn, vice president of university relations, told Campus Reform.
Jennifer Braly, the 38-year-old male student who was not satisfied with the university’s policy, filed a complaint with the Justice Department and sued.
“I am frustrated and highly depressed about all of these unfair restrictions,” Braly explained in an online appeal for sex-change surgery donations. “I live as a woman full time and have been for a year and a half now. I have natural breast development bigger than some normal girls from the hormone treatment. The only thing restricting me is what’s between my legs. Everyone is so concerned with what’s between my legs. I am just as much woman as anyone else.”
This is all "Despite opposition from female students", sorry pal, mutilating yourself don't make you a woman no matter how frustrated you are.
Seems a lot of these colleges forget where the majority of the money they get comes from, there's a lot of fathers out there who really don't want their daughters using the restroom with a 38 year old man, that's what we're talking about here.

There's really no point in making a federal case out of this, no one has restricted this "gentleman" from using the facilities designated for those with his genitalia. This isn't about "acceptance", it's about forcing oneself on others.
Maybe it's time to start choking off the income from these Universities?
