China says no stripping at funerals

It seems that in China the authorities think it's in poor taste to hire strippers for funerals.

China Says Please Stop Hiring Funeral Strippers
According to a statement from the Ministry of Culture on Thursday, the government plans to work closely with the police to eliminate such performances, which are held with the goal of drawing more mourners.
Pictures of a funeral in the city of Handan in northern Hebei province last month showed a dancer removing her bra as assembled parents and children watched. They were widely circulated online, prompting much opprobrium. In its Thursday statement, the Ministry of Culture cited “obscene” performances in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, as well as in Handan, and pledged to crack down on such lascivious last rites.
In the Handan incident earlier this year, the ministry said, six performers had arrived to offer an erotic dance at the funeral of an elderly resident. Investigators were dispatched and the performance was found to have violated public security regulations, with the person responsible for the performing troupe in question detained administratively for 15 days and fined 70,000 yuan (about $11,300), the statement said. The government condemned such performances for corrupting the social atmosphere.
The government has been trying to fight the country’s funereal stripper scourge for some time now. In 2006, the state-run broadcaster China Central Television’s leading investigative news show Jiaodian Fangtan aired an exposé on the practice of scantily clad women making appearances at memorial services in Donghai in eastern China’s Jiangsu province.
The point of inviting strippers, some of whom performed with snakes, was to attract large crowds to the deceased’s funeral – seen as a harbinger of good fortune in the afterlife. “It’s to give them face,” one villager explained. “Otherwise no one would come.~snip~
I wonder how people would react if people hired strippers here for the funerals of their loved ones?
Diversity and all.
I'm of the opinion that the purpose of a funeral is for loved ones to have an opportunity to let go of the deceased. Most people do that by honoring what the person was in life so I suppose if that person frequented strip joints it wouldn't be out of line for one last pole dance,

Yeah it's Come to this

I found a link to this in my Facebook feed that goes to Glenn Becks site. In the link is a transcript of the "invocation" given by what is apparently a deranged liberal/commie/progressive believer  in "diversity".
Mother Earth, we gather today in your redeeming and glorious presence, to invoke your eternal guidance in the universe, the original Creator of all things.
May the efforts of this council blend the righteousness of Allah with the all-knowing wisdom of Satan. May Zeus, the great God of justice, grant us strength tonight. Jesus might forgive our shortcomings while Buddha enlightens us through His divine affection. We praise you, Krishna, for the sanguine sacrifice that freed us all. After all, if Almighty Thor is with us, who can ever be against us?
And finally, for the bounty of logic, reason, and science, we simply thank the atheists, agnostics, Humanists, who now account for 1 in 5 Americans, and [are] growing rapidly. In closing, let us, above all, love one another, not to obtain mythical rewards for ourselves now, hereafter, or based on superstitious threats of eternal damnation, but rather, embrace secular-based principles of morality — and do good for goodness’ sake.
And so we pray.
I would think that if you were going to give an invocation to Allah, Zeus, Satan, Buddha, Krishna and Thor that there should be at least one person who believes in each or at a minimum all of said "deities".
But that isn't really the point. The point is to make a mockery of religious belief and by extension a mockery of the American form of government.
He could have accomplished the same thing by simply saying,"F*ck religion and anyone who believes in it" saving some time and whole lot of stupidity.
But then that would defeat the purpose of this left wing, self entitled attention whore.

They just can't have that.
Shame on the commission for enabling this self centered little moron.

Romney Rerun?

A friend on facebook pointed me to this article

Politico Commentary: Strong Case for Romney 2016 White House Run
Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney insists he is not running for president for a third time, but a commentary in Politico Magazine argues he would have a reasonably good chance of pulling off the nomination for 2016.
The article was written by Emil Henry, former assistant treasury secretary under President George W. Bush. He campaigned for Romney in 2012.
Even though electoral history would suggest Romney's chances are slim, he has the advantage of being the de facto leader of the Republican Party, while no other candidate stands out in the crowded field of possible contenders, Henry wrote.
In addition, he wrote, Romney would be the only candidate in the last 50 years who wasn't a career politician.
Henry wrote this is relevant because voters' unhappiness with Obama is driven by a perception of incompetence. Romney would provide the desired contrast of someone who has experience from the business world of successfully executing initiatives.~snip~
Romney has indicated that he has no intention of running again, which I'm sure will be truly disappointing to the liberal/commie media because they won't be able to resurrect the knives they used against him in 2011.
But it got me to thinking about what the next republican nominee is going to be facing in 2015, especially if Hillary enters the race.
First the guy will be hobbled by the fact that he will be chosen by the RINO Rovian infested RNC who has already made it plain that Tea Party conservatives need not apply. He'll also be facing another round of the lickspittle media hyperventilating about electing another first.
The party that insipidly screams equality will pull the gender card out of the deck and play it for all it is worth.
The qualifications of either candidate will take a backseat to the constant refrain of shattering the glass ceiling. We run the real risk of electing another unqualified candidate to office for the simple reason of diversity.
I hope this time around most Americans will wise up enough to demand to know what kind of policies they'll be voting for.
Seeing as how most voted for "diversity" the last 2 times.
Because we now know what electing someone with no positions on anything has turned out.
