Politico Commentary: Strong Case for Romney 2016 White House Run

Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney insists he is not running for president for a third time, but a commentary in Politico Magazine argues he would have a reasonably good chance of pulling off the nomination for 2016.
The article was written by Emil Henry, former assistant treasury secretary under President George W. Bush. He campaigned for Romney in 2012.
Even though electoral history would suggest Romney's chances are slim, he has the advantage of being the de facto leader of the Republican Party, while no other candidate stands out in the crowded field of possible contenders, Henry wrote.
In addition, he wrote, Romney would be the only candidate in the last 50 years who wasn't a career politician.
Henry wrote this is relevant because voters' unhappiness with Obama is driven by a perception of incompetence. Romney would provide the desired contrast of someone who has experience from the business world of successfully executing initiatives.~snip~

Romney has indicated that he has no intention of running again, which I'm sure will be truly disappointing to the liberal/commie media because they won't be able to resurrect the knives they used against him in 2011.
But it got me to thinking about what the next republican nominee is going to be facing in 2015, especially if Hillary enters the race.
First the guy will be hobbled by the fact that he will be chosen by the RINO Rovian infested RNC who has already made it plain that Tea Party conservatives need not apply. He'll also be facing another round of the lickspittle media hyperventilating about electing another first.
The party that insipidly screams equality will pull the gender card out of the deck and play it for all it is worth.
The qualifications of either candidate will take a backseat to the constant refrain of shattering the glass ceiling. We run the real risk of electing another unqualified candidate to office for the simple reason of diversity.
I hope this time around most Americans will wise up enough to demand to know what kind of policies they'll be voting for.
Seeing as how most voted for "diversity" the last 2 times.
Because we now know what electing someone with no positions on anything has turned out.

Poll: Only 79% Obama voters would vote for him again

Given a chance to do it all over again, only 79 percent of those who voted for President Obama would vote for him again and 71 percent of Obama voters now inclined to vote for somebody else “regret” their vote to reelect the president, according to a new poll.
The Economist/YouGov.com poll found that Obama would lose enough votes in a rematch with Mitt Romney that the Republican would win. “90 percent of people who voted for Romney would do it again, compared to only 79 percent of Obama voters who would,” said the poll.~snip~

There were plenty of warnings before hand but of course it didn't dawn on people that their poor choice could affect them until it did. The health insurance market is in complete disarray since the roll out of Obamacare but the real pain has yet to arrive since the administration keeps delaying portions of the law to save the asses of democrats coming up for reelection later this year.

Along the way voters are starting to realize the damage done to the middle class and other working Americans.

Americans Identify Unemployment/Jobs As Nation's No. 1 Problem

In response to that question posed by the Gallup polling organization earlier this month, 23 percent of Americans said unemployment/jobs are the most important problem, up from 16 percent in January.
The response cut across party lines, with Republicans, Democrats and Independents all choosing unemployment/jobs as the nation's most pressing problem in February.
Next on the list, 20 percent of Americans said the "economy in general" is the nation's most important problem, followed by dissatisfaction with government (19 percent); poor healthcare/hospitals-high cost of healthcare (15 percent); federal budget deficit/debt (8 percent); immigration/illegal aliens (6 percent); ethics-morals-family decline (5 percent); and education (4 percent).~snip~

Romney wasn't my first choice for the republican nomination but if he had won he wouldn't be purposely trying to destroy the middle class,jobs or the economy.
Lets hope we can turn our regrets around this year and in 2016.

Question Answered

You know even if Romney wasn't the ideal candidate, the question asked after Obama won another term is how could we have lost?
I believe this video answers the question very nicely.

Some people scoff at the idea that Obama voters are low information, seems pretty evident that they are to me.

I believe the liberal, commie, Obama loving media is in denial about how much ordinary Americans are sick and tired of them telling lies or omitting truth.
Just like they were in denial about about how much we resent being told what we can say and what we can believe in. The numbers who came out in support of Chick-fil-a should have given them a clue but instead they went into major denial mode and pretended it really didn't happen.

So while they've been fussing about Big Bird, binders, birth control, taxing the "rich" and racism if you are opposed to Obama's policies, the truth is sneaking up on them.
Americans are more concerned about getting and keeping a job, being able to afford gas in order to get to work so that they can support their families and provide a future for their children and grand children. But these concerns have been left behind in the interest of socialist ideology.
Massive crowds have been coming together to support Mitt Romney, Obama not so much this time around.
Not surprisingly the "major media" has been silent on the matter.

Mitt's been getting ten times the crowds that the Obamessiah has been able to muster, because voters are tired of empty promises. We want real change....and it's coming in 2 days.

One of the things I heard a lot of during the 2003 and 2007 campaigns was "anybody but Bush" (just think if this had really resonated in 2003, we'd have had 4 years of John Kerry, I doubt that Obama would have had a chance after that....but I digress.)
So what do we have to look "forward" to if Obama is relected?
Four more years of the same old.



There's an entire booklet out now where Obama lays out his plan for the next four years, at least that's new, but the plan is the same rehashed crap that has been sinking our economy and middle class for the last four years.
The choice is simple, continue on with policies that have failed us during Obama's first term or select someone with a different idea.
If you're OK with Obama's death spiral of our country and economy then he's you man. If you want opportunities for yourself, your children and grandchildren then the choice is "anybody but Obama".

My vote is for Romney/Ryan cause no matter what their faults or positives, they ain't Barack Obama.

After Debate Thoughts of a Forgotten Man

Well, I made the mistake of watching the debate on ABC for one thing.
Candy Crowley of CNN didn't disappoint in showing her obvious liberal bias, for instance.

Romney said it took Obama a long time to admit the episode had been a terrorist attack, but Obama said he had said so the day after in an appearance in the Rose Garden outside the White House. When moderator Candy Crowley of CNN said the president had in fact done so, Obama, prompted, "Say that a little louder, Candy."

Of course she was full of shit but leftards rose up in a collective chorus of "Amen". Biased much Candy?

But what was most interesting to me was this exchange.

Romney said it was "troubling" that Obama continued with a campaign event in Las Vegas on the day after the attack in Libya, an event he said had "symbolic significance and perhaps even material significance."
Obama seemed to bristle. He said it was offensive for anyone to allege that he or anyone in his administration had used the incident for political purposes. "That's not what I do."

Obama chose Faux outrage over an explanation as to why he decided to fund raise after this tragedy instead of staying in Washington to gather the facts.

But the after coverage at ABC was just embarrassing, Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos looked like they could barely refrain from jumping up and down yelling "we won!!! we won!!". The gushing for Obama was unseemly to say the least.

In all the cheer leading for Obama the central theme is lost by the pundits, Romney has a plan to engage business, give relief to the middle class and get people working again.

Obama, who had the congress and the senate for 2 years and still managed to cripple the country, laid out the same plan he had four years ago.

A new plan to get the country on track is the real winner, Romney has it and Obama doesn't, that is what's at stake.

The pundits can pound sand.

Tax or penalty? Romney, others still honing message on ObamaCare fine

The Romney campaign attempted Monday to clarify the candidate’s position on what consequence Americans will face for failing to buy health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, saying the candidate considers the fine an “unconstitutional penalty” rather than a tax.
The campaign took the position despite efforts by some Republicans to label the controversial fine a tax -- after the Supreme Court took that position in its ruling last week upholding the law. The Romney campaign, though, also suggested President Obama was trying to have it both ways, by embracing the Supreme Court decision while continuing to call the fine a "penalty" in public.
Mitt Romney's campaign challenged Obama to make a decision -- either call it an unconstitutional penalty or a "constitutional tax," but not both.
The clarification followed senior campaign adviser Eric Fehrnstrom saying earlier in the day that Romney thinks the consequence is a penalty, the same position he took on a similar fine under the statewide health care initiative he instituted as Massachusetts governor.
“The governor has consistently described the mandate in Massachusetts as a penalty,” Fehrnstrom said on MSNBC.

What happens in Massachusetts stays in Massachusetts, there it's considered a penalty. The Supreme Court of the United States says Obamacare is a tax.
It's almost like Mitt doesn't want to win....I gotta ask the question.
Why is it that all we seem to be able to nominate is "reach across the aisle", squishy RINO's?

I wasn't all that enthused about Newt either but truth be told I preferred him over Romney. In an election year where the rallying cry will be "Please God, anybody but Obama" we're just going to have to get behind Mitt and vote this failed administration out of office.
Fortunately we haven't been driven over the edge quite yet and are ready to vote in a crazy old libertarian, in spite of Ron Paul's rabid paranoid, 9/11 trooother brigade.

These poor misguided losers just can't get it that the American public just won't accept their loonie candidate. Why should we?
I've seen Paul's supporters advocate some of the most asinine conspiracies out there on the web, from chemtrails to 9/11 trutherism and everything in between.

They know as well as anyone else that this will be their last shot so they're going to try and go for all the marbles, obstructing and interfering in any way to get attention.

Hopefully after this election they'll all skulk back to their conspiracy forums where they can discuss the moon landing hoax, leaving the rest of America to get back to the business of limited government and prosperity.
We didn't lose those things over night and we won't instantly get them back by electing an old crank.
