Turning Our Lives Over to Others

Well lets see... nanny Bloomberg says we can't buy sugary drinks over 32 ounces and we can't buy king size Snickers Bars or decide for ourselves if we can own fire arms or not without being grilled by our family doctors.
It seems the next thing the nosy busy bodies want to do is to make us beg a doctor to get a prescription for a pack of cigarettes.

Bill proposed in Oregon would make cigarettes prescription-only drugs

SALEM, OR (KPTV) - If you're a regular smoker, you may want to keep an eye on a new bill in the Oregon Legislature.

Rep. Mitch Greenlick, from Portland, is sponsoring a bill that makes cigarettes a Schedule III controlled substance, meaning it would be illegal to possess or distribute cigarettes without a doctor's prescription.

Under the proposal, offenders would face maximum punishments of one year in prison, a $6,250 fine or both.

Other drugs and substances that are considered Schedule III controlled substances are ketamine, lysergic acid and anabolic steroids.

"The State Board of Pharmacy may adopt rules placing requirements and limitations on the sale or transfer of products containing nicotine,"

You know no matter how you feel about smoking you have to wonder when they will come after your particular vice. Like coffee or chocolate.
At any time these busy body's can come along and quote some study that will find something bad about nearly anything.
While smoking maybe an easy example to hate on it is just a gateway vice to go after many others.
Be silent on this one and you shouldn't expect others to defend your freedoms to decide for yourself later.

The New Religion

You know I've been quiet for a while because I've been contemplating how far apart people in this country have become.
People with a liberal...or "progressive" bent in their thinking process has mystified me but I think I have come to some sort of conclusion as to why. The liberal mass media has been selling a religion for a long time while denigrating Christianity as a cult of simple minded followers.
Yet they use that very gullibility to sell  and persuade people to accept the idea of leader worship.
Chris Matthews gets a tingle, Obama's own advisers proclaim that Americans aren't "worthy" of his leadership, a media editor proclaiming that Obama is "Sort of God" and implying that to simply be in his presence is like a dream.

Pinch Myself indeed.


These are the things that low information voters have been inundated with since Obama's first election. The question that I have to try and answer now is how did we get to the place where so many Americans are more willing to trust in a mere mortal than a loving God?
No wonder so many believe we are heading towards tyranny.

Propagandists Pushing Forward

I don't know why I do this to myself but I've taken to watching the ABC evening news just to keep abreast of what the communist network news talking heads are feeding the country.
After November it's obvious that they have the ear of the low information voter out there so they keep over half of the 30 minutes fluff and nonsense but the leads are all about the socialist agenda.

For instance the first story was all about the anti-second amendment efforts by highlighting the Giffords in their "Search for Solutions" segment.
Which as we all know the "solution" will be to violate the rights of law abiding citizens.

The next segment was about the other long time favorite of commie progressives,the climate change hoax, cause it's to hot in Australia and to extreme in the U.S. Just another excuse for socialists to control us and take our freedoms.
Of course there wasn't any discussion about other reasons that the weather changes because in their minds the science is settled.

This is the "information" that the low info voters are getting and it does make a difference. We need to be aware of what our friends and neighbors are being brain washed with by the lick spittle Obama media so we cam try and counter it.
Then maybe we won't be blind sided at the next election.

I guess it's to much to expect politicians to think something through before passing legislation in an "prevent global warming" type of frenzy.

“Our study revealed that the response of healthy skin cells to UV emitted from CFL bulbs is consistent with damage from ultraviolet radiation,” said Professor Rafailovich. “Skin cell damage was further enhanced when low dosages of TiO2 nanoparticles were introduced to the skin cells prior to exposure.” Rafailovich added that incandescent light of the same intensity had no effect on healthy skin cells, with or without the presence of TiO2.
“Despite their large energy savings, consumers should be careful when using compact fluorescent light bulbs,” said Professor Rafailovich. “Our research shows that it is best to avoid using them at close distances and that they are safest when placed behind an additional glass cover.”

So in a rush to prove to the unhinged eco-warriors out there that the politicians care more about their votes than the well being of their constituents they passed a bill phasing out much safer incandescent bulbs for the more hazardous CFL's.

Yeah that's about right cause at least we're saving the planet. No matter how many people get UV burns and cancer from it.

My advice is to lay in a good supply of incandescent bulbs and hope the eco-hysteria will go away.

But don't hold your breath.

Denny’s Refuses to Serve Gun-Toting Police Officer

“The Belleville Police Department is very disheartened by the lack of respect shown to on-duty sworn police officers, Capt. Don Sax said in a statement to Fox News. “Until further notice all on duty Belleville Police officers are banned from Denny’s Restaurant unless responding to an official call for service.”
The incident occurred on New Year’s Day when five detectives were eating at the restaurant. A manager approached their table and told one of the detectives that she had to take her weapon out to her car or leave the restaurant.
The detectives initially thought it was a joke, Sax said, noting that all of the officers had displayed their badges and several police radios were on the table.
“(The manager) stated that he had a complaint from another customer about the weapon and she had to take the weapon outside or leave,” he said.
The manager told the detectives that Denny’s only allows officers in uniform to carry weapons. The detectives said that wasn’t going to happen so they got up to leave.
Sax said the restaurant’s general manager eventually came over and said it was fine for the detectives to be in the restaurant.

I mean how many times has the objections of the one dictated what the many have had to tolerate? This whole incident could have been avoided if the manager had taken the tme to tell the complaier that if he/she didn't like armed police officers near then he/she could leave.
On top of the fact that it doesn't make sense from a business stand point to offend several customers to appease the whining of one.
Common sense seems to be in short supply nowadays.

Ted Nugent to Piers "doofus" Morgan

I'm not real big on the "celebrity worship" that has seemed to grip popular culture nowadays.
Ordinarily I believe that if I want to learn how to play a musical instrument or how to tell a joke then I'd seek out the advice of maybe Eric Clapton or Robin Williams.
On politics .....not so much.
With that said, celebrities do have the same rights as any other citizen. To express their views and I have the right to take them with the grain of salt that they deserve.
However with celebrity comes the opportunity for some entertainers to be put into the position of telling useful idiot media types what a lot of us want to tell them to their obnoxious, self-important, bloated faces.
Ted Nugent gets it right with Piers Morgan.
