Just a July 4th Reminder

Since the recent rise of the democrat party and their liberal/commie hangers on it's been a little hard to remember that the United States celebrates their independence on the fourth of July.
in·de·pend·ence
ˌindəˈpendəns/
noun
noun: independence
the fact or state of being independent.
synonyms: self-government, self-rule, home rule, separation, self-determination, sovereignty, autonomy, freedom, liberty
"the struggle for national independence"
self-sufficiency, self-reliance, autonomy, freedom, liberty
"he valued his independence"
We've have been slowly losing our independence to "diversity" and "social justice" for a few years but, unlike some Americans, I believe there are still enough true patriots out there to turn things around and get us back to true independence.
Independence from an over reaching and oppressive government to allow us to live our lives without the heavy hand of progressive liberal/communists interfering in our lives.

Clueless Dems Remain Defiant After Recall

This is the best news I've read since the last election.

Colorado state senators recalled over gun control support
Two Democratic lawmakers in Colorado, including the president of the state senate, were recalled Tuesday in elections brought about by their support for tougher gun control laws.
With 94 percent of the projected vote counted, voters in Colorado Springs favored recalling state Sen. John Morse, the body's president, by 51 percent to 49 percent. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, state Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo was defeated in her recall election, 56 percent to 44 percent.
"We as the Democratic party will continue to fight," Morse told supporters in Colorado Springs as he conceded the race. Republican Bernie Herpin, a former Colorado Springs city councilman, will replace him. Giron will be replaced by Republican George Rivera, a former deputy police chief in Pueblo.
The votes marked the first time in Colorado history that a state lawmaker faced a recall effort and the biggest backlash in states that passed tougher gun-control laws following two mass shootings last year – at an Aurora, Colo., movie theater and a Newtown, Conn., elementary school.~snip~
I suppose it was too much to expect these two to get the message that we don't have to stand by while liberal/commie democrats have their way with our freedoms.
It should be a wakeup call for all the RINO's out there also.

Congratulations Colorado.

Media Befuddled by Egypt

I was watching the CBS comedy called the nightly news the other day and was struck by the talking heads utter bewilderment that democratically elected president, like Morsi, could be just thrown out.

U.S.-Egypt relationship uncertain after Morsi's ouster
Days of tense street demonstrations in Egypt built to a dramatic climax on Wednesday, when the Egyptian military removed the Muslim Brotherhood-backed President Mohammed Morsi from power, installed a temporary civilian government and called for new elections.
Morsi denounced the move, labeling his ouster a "full coup," but he was ultimately unable to leverage his status as the first democratically elected leader of Egypt to remain in power.
Whether President Obama's administration agrees with Morsi's assessment that his removal was a "coup" could have significant ramifications for the future of the U.S.-Egypt relationship, particularly the continuation of roughly $1.3 billion in annual aid provided to the Egyptian military.~snip~
I suppose that they believe that no matter how oppressive or incompetent a country's leader is, if he was elected by a majority of constituents then they don't have a right to realize that they made a mistake and the attempt to show him the door.
(Makes you wonder what other oppressive and incompetent leader they may be preemptively covering for.)

In a true democracy the people have a right to choose another leader if the one elected cannot or will not perform his duties as promised or expected. Morsi was bent on turning Egypt over to radical Islamists enshrining sharia into the law and, like Obamacare, very hard to get rid of when fully implemented.
He and the Muslim Brotherhood oppressed minorities, meaning anyone who wasn't a muslim.
The people weren't going for it, so they exercised their right to protest and force him out. Democratically elected doesn't mean you got to live with the mistake forever.

Turning Our Lives Over to Others

Well lets see... nanny Bloomberg says we can't buy sugary drinks over 32 ounces and we can't buy king size Snickers Bars or decide for ourselves if we can own fire arms or not without being grilled by our family doctors.
It seems the next thing the nosy busy bodies want to do is to make us beg a doctor to get a prescription for a pack of cigarettes.

Bill proposed in Oregon would make cigarettes prescription-only drugs

SALEM, OR (KPTV) - If you're a regular smoker, you may want to keep an eye on a new bill in the Oregon Legislature.
Rep. Mitch Greenlick, from Portland, is sponsoring a bill that makes cigarettes a Schedule III controlled substance, meaning it would be illegal to possess or distribute cigarettes without a doctor's prescription.
Under the proposal, offenders would face maximum punishments of one year in prison, a $6,250 fine or both.
Other drugs and substances that are considered Schedule III controlled substances are ketamine, lysergic acid and anabolic steroids.
"The State Board of Pharmacy may adopt rules placing requirements and limitations on the sale or transfer of products containing nicotine,"
You know no matter how you feel about smoking you have to wonder when they will come after your particular vice. Like coffee or chocolate.
At any time these busy body's can come along and quote some study that will find something bad about nearly anything.
While smoking maybe an easy example to hate on it is just a gateway vice to go after many others.
Be silent on this one and you shouldn't expect others to defend your freedoms to decide for yourself later.

Maintaining the Gravy Train

You know every time I hear the lapdog/commie/idiot/parrots of the main stream media talk about how much educators "care" about our kids I throw up a little.
The current crop of commie leftists have no intention of allowing our kids to be educated.

Louisiana's school voucher system under fire as state judge weighs its fate

The legal battle over Louisiana’s controversial school voucher program is getting its day in court.
Judge Tim Kelly began hearing arguments Wednesday in a state district court in Baton Rouge on whether the vouchers -- and how they’re paid for – are constitutional.
The complicated issue was thrust into the national spotlight after Louisiana enacted what some experts say is the most comprehensive education reforms in the country.
Louisiana lawmakers created the “Student Scholarships for Educational Excellence Program” earlier this year, with backing from Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal.
The legislation paved the way for qualifying families to use taxpayer dollars for private school tuition.
Every time a state or city tries to free their children from the incessant propaganda of the leftist tools in our education system their unions use the dues paid by educators to scrape up some bottom feeding lawyers to challenge it.
They can't get over the hold they have on our children's minds and if you don't think it matters then reflect about the number of morons that chose Obama over their civic responsibility to elect someone who would uphold the constitution.
We have whole generations now who have been taught that the road to prosperity is through robbing others and enlarging government.

Want to take back our freedoms?
Liberate our children from government schools.

The Half Empty President

Seems to me this is a fitting way for Obama to end his campaign.
Obama Ends Campaign in Half-Empty Arena
President Obama’s big rally tonight turned out to be just like his first, opening salvo of the 2012 campaign: a half-empty arena in Ohio. According toRealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out.
The reason I refer to him as a "half empty" president is because there are people who believe that he has actually accomplished something in the last four years.
Like high jacking health care, allowing gays to serve openly in the military, giving multi-billion bailouts to corrupt unions, suppressing business, pissing away billions of dollars on failed "green energy" companies, killing the coal industry, driving the cost of gasoline to double, expanding food stamps and unemployment.
If these things are important to you then you believe he's a success and deserves four more years.

If jobs, prosperity, freedom, a balanced budget and hopeful future are important to you then he's a failed president and needs to be replaced.
Believe it or not there are people who think he's doing a good job and there is nothing anyone can do to change their mind. The real problem is if there are enough to re-elect this abject failure.
If Obama garners enough votes after his piss poor performance then it makes me wonder if our country deserves to be exceptional. If enough people vote for another four years of this loser then maybe we deserve mediocrity.

I hope that's not the case and tomorrow will be a new beginning for America.
Please Vote!!

Obama Supporter

I mean really?
What more needs to be said? This is the direction the country will go in the next four years if Obama is re-elected.

It's in our hands on November 6th......four more years of this, or we go in a direction that respects life and individual freedom.
The stakes couldn't be higher.

Random Stuff

Couple of pictures from  facebook that I saw and wanted to share.

This one I got from Barack Obama's Dead Fly, just something to remind us of who else are the enemies of freedom and civil rights.
Obama has eclipsed Carter in the number of countries seized by Islamic radicals under his watch ever. Carter lost just one, so far Obama has 2 and counting.

This is from ForAmerica.
I'm old enough to remember the four years the POS on the right was in charge of America's "malaise", somehow I don't think Obama being to the left of Carter in this pic wasn't intentional.
In the almost 6 decades that I've been alive I never thought I woud live to see anyone worse than Jimmy Carter.
Boy was I wrong.

Freedom of the Road

When I was really young there was a quaint little ritual we would all do on a Sunday afternoon (before and after football season).
All of us kids would crowd into the car and the whole family would take a Sunday drive.
Sometimes we would picnic, sometimes not, sometimes we would go somewhere specific and sometimes my Dad would just go in a direction just to see what was there.

The point is that we had the freedom to get in the car and go wherever we wished.

How times have changed.
Average cost of car ownership now $8946 per year
And you thought it was expensive to just buy a car these days.
The average cost to operate a vehicle in the United States is now $8,946 annually, according to the 2012 edition of AAA’s Your Driving Costs study.
That’s an increase of 1.9 percent over 2011 and encompasses the full cost of ownership, including fuel, maintenance and tire wear among other factors.
And it could already be a lot more than that.
Increases were seen almost across the board with fuel prices experiencing the biggest single jump at 14.8 percent. But that figure was calculated using a fourth quarter 2011 average price of 3.36 cents per gallon, which has risen dramatically this year.
Fuel was followed by tire costs, which rose 4.9 percent, and insurance, up 3.4 percent year over year.
The only bright spot for car owners was a decrease in the rate of depreciation of their vehicles by 4.9 percent due mainly to low auto sales over the past few years, a trend that is already reversing.
Overall, a typical driver can expect to spend 59.6 cents per mile this year. That compares to just 9 cents per mile when the study was first conducted in 1950, when the average price of a new car was about $1,500.
Freedom is relative, it's not just about constitutional freedoms it's also about the right to go where you want when you want, oh yeah of course if you can afford the high cost of car ownership, maintenance and gasoline then you're still free to do so.
But there used to be a time when you didn't have to have a trust fund to enjoy the open road.
The more government has interfered in the free market the more expensive it's become to have the simple freedom that was enjoyed once by the middle class.

To be able to take a sunday drive.
