Should Pamela Geller Apologize?

You know ever since the shooting in Garland,Texas the liberal media has been bending over backwards to find any excuse to blame the intended victims.

Event organizer offers no apology after thwarted attack in Texas
Pamela Geller, the woman behind the Texas cartoon contest attacked by two gunmen late Sunday, knew what she was doing when she staged the controversial event featuring irreverent depictions of the prophet Muhammad in Garland, Tex.

The Dallas suburb had hosted a pro-Muslim conference in January, about the time Islamist terrorists killed a dozen journalists with the satirical French publication Charlie Hebdo. Geller, a blogger and fierce critic of what she calls the “Islamization” of America, wanted to make a statement.

So she sponsored the Jihad Watch Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest in the same exhibition hall as the earlier conference. She and her associates invited 200 people and hired 40 heavily armed off-duty police officers and security guards to protect them.

And then they unveiled the pictures: A drawing of Muhammad on a unicycle. A picture of the prophet with a beard of snakes. An angry Muhammad wearing a turban, holding a sword and yelling: “You can’t draw me!” — a reference to the fact that depicting the prophet is considered blasphemous by many Muslims.~snip~
There's something truly perverse about this kind of victim blaming and sort of eye opening about the fact that there seems to be something of a religious nature that liberals get outraged about.
In their minds you can create provocative art about Christianity.
Force people to compromise their faith,
Marginalize Christians.
But draw a picture of Mohammed and you got it coming.

Draw Mohammed Event Draws Gunmen

So I wonder if the liberal/commie media will do wall to wall coverage on this?

2 killed by police after opening fire outside Muhammad art event in Garland
Two gunmen opened fire Sunday evening outside a contest for cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad  at Garland ISD's Curtis Culwell Center, police said.
The two men pulled up in a vehicle and shot a Garland ISD security officer. The men were fatally shot by Garland police, and their bodies remain on the street outside the events center.
The security officer, Bruce Joiner,  was released from the hospital after his wounds were treated.
No one was being allowed to leave the facility, where an art show centering on caricatures of Muhammad was being held. Nearby businesses, including a Walmart and Sam's Club, were evacuated.~snip~
Already the media begins to cover for "the religion that no one dare say the name".

NYT reporter wonders why anyone would hold a ‘Muhammad drawing contest

Weird....seeing how they never asked the question "why would someone take a picture of piss Christ?".

Abortion Barbie "On second thought"

File this under "I'll say anything to win and stay relevant".

Wendy Davis backs 20-week abortion ban that defers to women
Wendy Davis said Tuesday that she would have supported a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, if the law adequately deferred to a woman and her doctor.
Davis, a Fort Worth senator and the likely Democratic nominee for governor, told The Dallas Morning News’ editorial board that less than one-half of 1 percent of Texas abortions occur after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Most of those were in cases where fetal abnormalities were evident or there were grave risks to the health of the woman.
“I would line up with most people in Texas who would prefer that that’s not something that happens outside of those two arenas,” Davis said.
But the Democrat said the state’s new abortion law didn’t give priority to women in those circumstances. The law allows for exceptions for fetal abnormalities and a threat to the woman’s life, but Davis said those didn’t go far enough.~snip~
This seems to be recurring theme with democrats, this from the woman who couldn't even be truthful about her past. Modifying it to play to a particular demographic of women who see themselves more as victims.
Supporting open carry because...well it's Texas and now modifying her position on the 20 week abortion ban after pandering to the minority planned parenthood demographic that put her name on the map.
To many politicians ride the wave of fringe political beliefs to get themselves noticed long enough to throw the very principal they championed under the bus once they get publicity and money from the issue.

If presenting herself as the polar opposite of what she initially stood for will get her elected then she will misrepresent herself that way. Like any other democrat.
Voters need to stop falling for it.

Single Issue Abortion Advocate Announces Governor Run

After drooling uncontrollably over someone with pink tennis shoes and a urinary catheter advocating minimum sanitary requirements and abortion at any stage the liberal/commie media and democrat party proudly announces Abortion Barbies run for Texas governor.

Wendy Davis announces she's running for Texas governor
Months after an epic fight over abortion rights made her a rising star in the Democratic Party, Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis on Thursday announced her bid for the Texas governor's office.
"We're here, of course, because we care about Texas," Davis said to a cheering crowd at Wiley G. Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City, Texas. "We're here because we care about Texans, and we're here because we believe it's time to give all Texans a voice in their future and a place in Texas' future."
The state lawmaker made the announcement at the Wiley G. Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City, Texas, where she received her high school diploma 32 years ago. Education is expected to be a major issue in her campaign. Davis reminded voters of the campaign she launched two years ago against $5 billion in cuts to education spending, helping to restore more than $3 billion of that funding.
"We love Texas not only for how good it is, but for how great we know it can be," she said. "We want every child, no matter where they start in Texas, to receive a world class education, an education that can take them anywhere they want to go."
While she's focusing largely on education, what really catapulted Davis into the spotlight this year was her 13-hour filibuster in June against a controversial abortion bill in the state legislature. While she managed to help bring down the legislation in that session, Texas lawmakers reintroduced the bill, and Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, signed it into law in July.~snip~
I suppose the democrats believe that the time is ripe seeing as how so many Americans have no problem electing someone who has no real accomplishments, politically, to speak of.

Texas hasn't elected a democrat governor for almost 20 years and of course the excuses put out by the commie party has nothing to do with the fact that most of the people in Texas don't want what the democrats are offering. To them it's more along the lines that the republicans have to be cheating because who wouldn't want the democrats confiscating and redistributing their wealth, devaluing human life or being hostile to businesses and jobs?

I seriously doubt the majority of Texans want what Abortion Barbie is selling.

Takin' Five

Every once in a while I need to get away from the news feeds and let my blood pressure drop towards normal.
A little TV and some good music helps.
I've been watching FX's  excellent new series "The Bridge" which comes on Wednesday nights. I used to live in El Paso, Texas when I was a kid so that is part of the attraction for me but the plot line is pretty good also.

The opening theme song is really haunting so I searched around to see who wrote it and found this.

Hope you enjoy it.

The New Low in Liberal Media

Feminism has pretty much knocked women off the pedestal that they once stood upon in years gone by and for the most part I pretty much agree with the idea of equality for women. They are entitled to equal pay for equal work and more fulfillment in life than to be barefoot and pregnant.
But it doesn't seem enough to just knock the pedestal over.....some want to make sure it's ground into dust.

Here we have Melissa Harris-Perry donning a pair of tampon earrings ostensibly in solidarity with the women in Texas who are content with the borderline cleanliness and safety requirements for abortion clinics that existed before SB5 was passed.
Having been married I'm not offended by the sight of tampons, they exist to fill a need so to speak. But I've never known any woman in my life who would put them on display dangling from their body. I also have no idea what the purpose is or what tampons have to do with abortion or even what wearing them proves.

I suppose wearing them dangling from their ears is slightly more preferable than throwing them at Texas legislators, again not what they're designed for. Both of these scenarios show one obvious thing....a lack of class and decorum.
All pro abortion forces care about is winning, they don't care how ugly it is. Also for a news network to be so blatantly biased as to pick a side should be an indication of how the rest of their "news" is covered and can it be trusted.
People who watch these liberal/commie networks should be concerned about what they're not being informed about and demand better.

Wearing it on their Sleeve

Wow, Biased much AP?
Kaboom, with one tweet the AP shows without a doubt which side of the abortion issue they're on and by extension telling us which side we should be on.
Whatever happened to "just the facts" or the good old "who, what, when, where and why" standard?
This is a debate that Texans alone should be having seeing as how a majority are in favor of a 20 week ban on abortion.

The liberal/commie media bias is in full display all day every day now.

A Vagina's Got a Gun

Sometimes you just can't make this stuff up, while liberal/commie feminists in Texas are screaming for government to keep out of their vaginas by creating odes to crotch holsters.
 The poem, by Katie Heim:
If my vagina was a gun, you would stand for its rights,
You would ride on buses and fight all the fights.
If my vagina was a gun, you would treat it with care,
You wouldn’t spill all its secrets because, well, why go there.
If my vagina was a gun, you’d say what it holds is private
From cold dead hands we could pry, you surely would riot.
If my vagina was a gun, its rights would all be protected,
no matter the body count or the children affected.
If my vagina was a gun, I could bypass security,
concealed carry laws would ensure I’d have impunity.
If my vagina was a gun, I wouldn’t have to beg you,
I could hunt this great land and do all the things men do.
But my vagina is not a gun, it is a mightier thing,
With a voice that rings true making lawmakers’ ears ring.
Vaginas are not delicate, they are muscular and magic,
So stop messing with mine, with legislation that’s tragic.
My vagina’s here to demand from the source,
Listen to the voices of thousands or feel their full force.
One woman is going to serve time for just that.

Woman Who Hid Gun In Vagina Gets 25 Years
JULY 8--The Oklahoma woman who had a loaded handgun concealed in her vagina when she was arrested earlier this year on a drug charge has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison, according to court records.
Christie Dawn Harris, 28, last week entered no contest pleas to three felony counts during a hearing in Pontotoc County District Court. Harris, whose rap sheet already includes multiple felony convictions, copped on June 27 to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, gun possession, and bringing contraband into jail.
Judge Steven Kessinger sentenced Harris to serve 25 years on each count, with the penalties to run concurrently. He also ordered her to pay $1363 in court costs and fees.~snip~
So, by the logic of the liberal/commie feminists in Texas, shouldn't they be outraged by this woman being prosecuted for what was in her vigina?
I mean what business was it of the governments to look in there anyway?
Also shouldn't the liberal/commie feminists in Texas be flooding into Oklahoma to protest this egregious violation of her vagina?
I'd be really interested to know why not.

How to Win Friends.....

....on the abortion debate?
Call on Satan!!

Or you could just exploit little children in an attempt to push your ghoulish agenda.

I'm really interested to see how they are going to spin "abortion rights" as being "for the children".

I can't really understand what the big deal is with the pro-murder a child in the womb groups, all this bill does is limit abortions to 20 weeks and lays out a few requirements to make abortion a little safer.
Isn't that what Roe vs. Wade was supposed to do?
Make abortion clean and safe, for the woman anyway.
I find it amazing that not even Kermit Gosnell wasn't enough to make some women take a pause for a moment and consider what is really at stake here.

Check out the "Hail Satan!!" video here. Cahnman's Musings

Culture of Death Disrupts Texas Vote

Doing everything they can possibly do to retain the "right" to dismember babies in the womb right up to the moment of birth "prochoice" fanatics erupt in childish screaming to prevent a vote in Texas to limit abortions.

Not heard was the voices of the millions of babies discarded in medical waste containers over the years.

Texas abortion bill falls after dispute over vote
Texas' lieutenant governor acknowledged early Wednesday that Republicans missed their deadline to pass new abortion restrictions after protesters screamed down lawmakers as the final 15 minutes passed before the special legislative session's deadline.
Initially, Republicans insisted they had started voting before the midnight deadline and passed the bill that Democrats spent much of Tuesday filibustering. But after official computer records and printouts of the voting record showed the vote took place on Wednesday, and then were changed to read Tuesday, senators convened for a private meeting.
An hour later, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst was still insisting the 19-10 vote was in time, but said, "with all the ruckus and noise going on, I couldn't sign the bill."
He denounced the more than 400 protesters who staged what they called "a people's filibuster" from 11:45 p.m. to well past midnight. He denied mishandling the debate.
"I didn't lose control (of the chamber). We had an unruly mob," Dewhurst said. He then hinted that Gov. Rick Perry may immediately call another special session, adding: "It's over. It's been fun. But see you soon."~snip~
Leftists are all ready to have a "conversation" up until they realize they have lost the debate, then they turn to thug tactics and throwing a fit to get their way.
No wonder we can't have adult discussions, only one side behaves like grownups, the other like spoiled children.

Tea Party Kicking Ass

Just read this online, lets make RINO's an endangered species this year.

Texas GOP chooses tea party-backed Cruz for Senate
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Tea party darling Ted Cruz convincingly defeated the Republican establishment favorite, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, in Texas' runoff election Tuesday, capturing the GOP nomination to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison as fiercely conservative voters shook one of America's reddest states to its political core.
The race had been closely watched nationally as one of the nation's most-vivid contrasts between the GOP mainstream and grassroots, conservative activists. But as results began to pour in, it turned out to be no contest. Cruz grabbed early leads in key cities around the state where Dewhurst had once enjoyed stronger name recognition, fundraising and political organization just weeks earlier.
Having an "R" next to your name isn't enough, the establishment Republican party can offer us real alternatives to the "go along-get along" squishy RINO or they can fade into obscurity.
