Dzhokhar Tsarnaev sentenced

Yeah, I'm sixty-mumble so I'm pretty sure I'll expire long before this jihadi is executed.

Jurors sentence Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death for Boston Marathon bombing
A federal jury sentenced Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death Friday for his part in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that left three people dead, and for the murder of an MIT police officer as he and his brother attempted their getaway.

Tsarnaev showed no emotion as he learned his fate and stood with his hands clasped in front of him, his head slightly bowed. He faces death by lethal injection.

"My mother and I think think that now he will go away and we will be able to move on," said victtim Sydney Corcoran after the verdict. "Justice. In his own words, 'an eye for an eye.'"

Corcoran nearly bled to death and her mother lost both legs.

The 21-year-old faced the death penalty or life in prison for his role in the April 15, 2013 attack in which two pressure-cooker bombs were detonated near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.~snip~
If we're not going to proceed with swift and certain justice here then it would be a lot cheaper on the taxpayers to just give him life without parole.
Not that I'm against the death penalty but we're looking at decades before its carried out so if they ain't going to do it right away then why not let him rot?

The Problem with the Death Penalty

The current mainstream media outrage in this news cycle is about the execution of Joseph Woods and the amount of time it took for him to die by lethal injection in Arizona.
As a matter of fact it's enough of an issue that media whore John McCain, who never lets an opportunity pass to flap his gums, had something to say about it.

One of the things you'll notice is that when they describe the 2 murders he was convicted of there is no description of the pain his victims suffered or the amount of time they lay dying.
Those omissions are of course intentional because the progressive/liberal media wants to engender sympathy for the murderer.

Lethal injection is the newest method being used to avoid "cruel and unusual punishment". A way to sanitize execution so as not to disturb the sensibilities of the public.

A lot of states adopted a 3 drug protocol which, if administered correctly, was a pretty effective way to execute murderers.
But Joseph Woods wasn't executed using the 3 drug protocol because death penalty opponents began shaming the companies who manufactured them causing the only company making sodium thiopental to stop doing so.
So states are in a search for other protocols to execute murderers as ordered by the courts. Apparently their search for alternatives isn't going so well.
So why don't we return to the tried and true methods of the past, hanging, the electric chair, firing squad or even the gas chamber. These resulted in death way quicker than 2 hours even during the rare times they were botched.

Executing murderers should never be sanitized for the sensibilities of society. We should be able to administer the ultimate punishment to those who violate the most basic right of depriving someone of their life without being squeamish or apologetic about it.
The truth is to those opposed to the death penalty there will never be a humane enough way to execute the rabid predators of society and we should stop trying.

Predator Saves Ohio Some Money

(CNN) -- Ariel Castro, who was sentenced to life plus 1,000 years for kidnapping and raping three women, as well as murder, was found hanging in his prison cell Tuesday night, the state's Department of Corrections said.
Authorities found Castro, 52, hanging in his cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio, about 9:20 p.m., the agency said.
Prison medical staff tried to revive him but failed.
Castro was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m.

Castro's brother-in-law, Juan Alicea, told CNN that the family was notified by the warden about 1 a.m. The family is angry, Alicea said, that it learned about the death from media reports first.~snip~
The first decent thing the guy has done since he was captured after taking over a decade of 3 womens lives. The irony is he plead guilty to some 900 charges to avoid the death penalty.
