Feminism Really is a Four Letter Word

Back in the oldy days when "feminism" first began they got attention by burning bras. It was a way to get attention.
Invite a few amused or sympathetic reporters a little lighter fluid and a match take a photo and instant publicity.
While most people found it humorous it did what it intended, got folks talking about it.
At the time a lot of people could get behind the issues.
Equal pay for equal work, protection from lecherous male bosses or coworkers and equal opportunities.
Fifty years later somewhere along the way feminism got hi-jacked by bitter, man hating obnoxious harpies turning the word feminist into the word most people would like to see banned.

Another example of why a large segment of the population would rather not hear from the self appointed protectors of the female gender can be found here.

The latent sexism of the male marriage proposal
When I got engaged earlier this year, well-meaning friends excitedly asked "how he proposed" — and then immediately looked at my left hand.
I've been told I can thank the Archduke Maximilian of Austria, who proposed to Mary of Burgundy with a diamond ring in 1477, for such instincts. But maybe I should thank the originators: the prehistoric men who demonstrated their control over women by tying braided grass around their wrists and ankles.
You'd think the obvious sexism of the modern proposal would rankle my progressive friends. Yes, plenty of brides have men in their bridal parties, more and more women are ditching the "virginal" white dress, and guys aren't running to ask their fiancees' fathers for "permission" to marry them anymore. But our culture still, overwhelmingly, pushes the traditional male proposal: down on one knee, with a sparkly diamond (and often a flash mob) in tow.~snip~
It's getting to the point where there is nothing that these unhappy patriarchal hating attention whores won't whine about.
If they ever find a way to truly merge with global warming then they'll be able to find a unifying theory of misery for everything.

Happy Thanksgiving 2014

I love Thanksgiving and the memories.
Growing up I can remember my family getting together on the big day, watching football and eating ham, turkey, stuffing and the whole 9 yards. Keeping in mind what I was thankful for.
Then when I had a family I did my best to extend the tradition hopefully giving my children memories that they can hold onto.
Now I get to watch my children pass it on.

Some of my family is no longer with us but at least I have them in my thoughts and remember the times we could all be together.
That's what I'm thankful for.

And of course no truly traditional American holiday would be complete without a pompous commie/leftist tirade against it.

In spite of the leftist/progressive naysayers have a happy and safe Thanksgiving creating those memories.

The Real "Faux" news

Examples of the difference between a news organization that simply reports the news as opposed to one that tries to shape it couldn't be more stark than these 2 breaking news alerts.

One simply states the fact while the other colors it between black and white.

People need to get a clue to the fact that they are being manipulated by the same media commie/leftists who cheer leaded for the occupy movement and failed.
They would like nothing better than to destabilize Washington,DC with violence and unrest in order to force the spineless politicians to fundamentally change things into their warped vision of what this country should be.
The traitorous left wing media has been agitating for this for decades.

Justice in Ferguson

Here's a pretty sobering perspective on the lawlessness in Ferguson,Mo.
A perspective that will fall on deaf ears.

Justice Was Served in Ferguson—This Isn’t Jim Crow America
“Civil rights” figures decided long ago that the only fair outcome would be indictment. But that was driven by ideology, not facts.
The day of reckoning has arrived not just in Ferguson, Missouri but also across America. For some, the grand jury proceedings to determine whether the shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer was justified was never about seeking justice. As widely anticipated in the media, the jury of nine whites and three blacks elected not to indict based on the evidence before them. Sadly, hundreds if not thousands of individuals descended upon this small St. Louis suburb to agitate for an outcome based on their ideology rather than the facts under consideration by the grand jury.
Even though the grand jury elected not to find Officer Darren Wilson responsible for the shooting death of teenager Michael Brown, I sadly never believed that the gathering protesters gathered in Ferguson were seeking justice or a peaceful resolution to the case, which has roiled race relations in America to levels I haven’t seen in decades.~snip~
I think it's fairly plain for everyone to see that the violence and destruction of property was instigated by the professional agitators advancing their own agenda without giving one wit for "social justice".

WaPo : Dissent will not be tolerated

Saturday night live did an opening skit making light of Obama's executive action on immigration.
So in the tradition of repressive regimes the Washington Post rides to the rescue of the Obamessiah.

SNL skit suggests Obama’s immigration executive action is unconstitutional
The cold open got the basic explanation of what the difference is between a law and executive order right. And SNL also is correct that more Americans, even if they support comprehensive immigration reform, don't believe Obama should do it by fiat.
As to whether the executive action is unconstitutional? That's a matter of debate, of course. Some House Republicans think so and may add a complaint to a suit they are planning to file challenging Obama's executive actions on his health-care law.
One Obama backer who also supports a comprehensive overhaul of immigration laws says the action may be impeachable, as "by constitutional design, impeachment for 'treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors' is a political accusation."~snip~
Maybe I missed it but I don't remember WaPo coming along when SNL  criticized  GWB during one of their skits....but I could be wrong.

It was a funny bit but the real story here should be how, in this case, a supposed member of the press got their lapdog on when a comedy program makes light of the actions of dear leader.

Besides I don't know what they're worried about. I mean it's not like anyone has ever taken an SNL comedy skit seriously.

Liberals Always out to Shoot the Messenger

So what are campus police police supposed to do?

Colleges struggle with protecting students without being accused of victim-blaming
Don’t drink so much. "Stop victim-blaming."
Watch your drink. "Stop victim-blaming."
Walk in well-lit areas at night. "Stop victim-blaming."
If colleges cannot suggest basic common sense measures to protect students — which help guard against crimes that aren’t rape and help men as well — without being accused by the feminist chorus of blaming victims, what can they say?
“It's a tough line to tread because the blame should still be on the perpetrator, but you also want to protect these people,” Larkin Sayre, a sophomore at Massachusetts Institute of Technology told NPR.
Suggesting women don’t drink so much or don’t wear short skirts feels wrong, Sayre said, because being able to wear what one wants is “a basic human right” and “we don't tell men to not get blackout drunk.”
If there are people who aren’t telling men not to get blackout drunk then that definitely needs to change. No one should be getting blackout drunk, not just because of what crimes one could commit or have committed upon them, but for health reasons as well.
University of Wisconsin police spokesman Marc Lovicott argued that doing whatever it takes to protect students is more important than being politically correct.
“Man, it just seems like we live in such a politically correct society these days, and everybody's watching the words they use and they should be, I mean, to a certain extent,” Lovicott said. “But when it comes to crime prevention, we're not gonna stop.”
UW was under fire for its supposed victim-blaming crime prevention tips, which it has since updated.~snip~
There's just something wrong with the concept of condemning crime prevention by denouncing it as "victim blaming".
Saying that "men shouldn't rape" is a kind of a no shit Sherlock statement. But until saying that actually works then warning women how not to become victims seems like a pretty prudent thing to do.
I can't believe that this has become some kind of controversial thing.
Which brings up the fact that liberal objections to trying to warn women is more about an agenda than it is about them giving a damn about the victims.

Bill Cosby...Why Now?

Lot of news and print has been coming out over the last few days about Bill Cosby and some rape allegations that seem to have been around for decades.
I have no idea whether the allegations are true or not.
If he actually did what he's accused of then he should have been charged, prosecuted and jailed
.
But all these accusations have come out way past the statute of limitations for him to be charged with the offenses even if there was evidence still in existence to use against him.
Instead it's all decades in the past.

They asked a really good question over at Twitchy.

Why are rape charges treated differently for Clinton than for Cosby?

At this point in time the allegations of Billy "BJ" Clinton's rapes are unresolved and decades old also, so what is different about the two?

Bill Cosby went off the liberal plantation by pointing out the short comings of minorities when they blame "white folks" for their problems and then act like thugs and revel in a "welfare culture".

Bill Cosby Bashes Thugs and Welfare Moms: ‘We Can’t Blame White People
Bill Cosby’s rant against uneducated and apathetic Americans is forcing the country to reevaluate the lifestyles of lifetime welfare recipients.
Cosby, who’s best known for his patriarchal role on “The Cosby Show,” is an outspoken Democrat. But over the past several years, Cosby has criticized President Obama for a range of “broken promises” and railed against entitled Americans for their “thuggish” behavior and incessant willingness to remain uneducated.
“I can’t even talk the way these people talk,” Cosby said. “Why you ain’t, where you is, who you be…Everybody knows it’s important to speak English except these knuckleheads…You will never get any kind of job making a decent living,” he added.
Cosby also censured welfare mothers for buying their kids $500 sneakers “when they won’t spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics,” so their children can learn to read.
“People used to be ashamed” of having children with multiple men, Cosby noted, but “Today a woman has eight children with eight different ‘husbands’ or men, whatever you call them now.”
Cosby called on black Americans to “do a better job” in society and take responsibility for their own lives. “We have to start holding each other to a higher standard. We cannot blame the white people any longer.”~snip~
Statements like that completely undermine liberal/commie/democrats strategy of  division and grievance politics they have perfected over the years.
Billy "BJ"Clinton is still on  the liberal/commie/democrats division and grievance band wagon.
That's why he gets a pass.

If Bill Cosby did those things then he needs to be exposed and retire from public life.
But Billy "BJ" Clinton should be exposed and forced out too.
Or maybe liberal/commie/democrats are waiting until he's 77 years old to be shocked and outraged by his crimes.

You May be a Douche....

...if you're this selfish.
Fortunately she got a ball.

Dressing up the Lie

I think probably the most infuriating thing about the revelations from Johnathan Gruber that Obamacare was thrust down the "stupid voters" throat through deception and lies is the democrats who come out trying to defend it.
Informed consent is a big deal in the medical community where they have you sign a form stating that you understand a procedure and its possible consequences. The idea that these elitist charlatans didn't even give us a chance to be fully informed before ruining healthcare and then telling us it was for our own good is especially insulting.

Man Lands Probe on Comet and all we hear about is a Shirt

So this really awesome thing happens, the European Space Agency lands  a space craft called Philae on a comet.
The difficulty of this feat can't be emphasized enough and the scientists and techies involved have a lot to be proud of.

But instead the feminist grievance mongers fall out in force to shift the attention away from this accomplishment in order to make it about themselves.
Here's a pretty good article laying the whole thing out.

1 small shirt for a man, 1 giant leap backward for women: Column
So how are things going for feminism? Well, last week, some feminists took one of the great achievements of human history — landing a probe from Earth on a comet hundreds of millions of miles away — and made it all about the clothes.
Yes, that's right. After years of effort, the European Space Agency's lander Philae landed on a comet 300 million miles away. At first, people were excited. Then some women noticed that one of the space scientists, Matt Taylor, was wearing a shirt, made for him by a female "close pal," featuring comic-book depictions of semi-naked women. And suddenly, the triumph of the comet landing was drowned out by shouts of feminist outrage about ... what people were wearing. It was one small shirt for a man, one giant leap backward for womankind.~snip~
You kind of get this weird feeling that now every scientific or technological achievement will be judged by man hating harridans who judge the scope of it by what is worn or owned by men who make the accomplishment.
If a guy finds the cure for cancer I sure hope he doesn't have this on the mudflaps on his truck.

But they did force the guy to give a tearful apology. Although I would think if the feminists really wanted to flex their girl power they could get the animals of ISIS to blubber a little bit over their treatment of Yazidi women.

Here's a little hint ladies, if you can be so easily distracted from the goals of science or technology by someones apparel then guess what?
Science and technology ain't the career for you.

Old Bigots vs Young Bigots

I ran across this story today on my Facebook timeline.

Cashier tells mom she should have aborted her Down syndrome son, mom’s response is legendary
A mom who we only know by her blogger name Sherry wrote about how she was out with her son who has Down syndrome and a cashier implies she should have had an abortion.
Sherry has a two-year-old son named Gave whom she loves dearly, so when someone says something so horrible it’s almost hard to know how to respond. I thought Sherry handled herself with class while getting a very important message across.~snip~
It got me thinking some, I mean I can't ever think of a time when someone would try and shame someone for the choice of having a disabled child. I mean in the considerable number of decades I've spent on the earth I've heard people say some hurtful things about the disabled.
But it was never out of malice as much as it was ignorance.
But it kind of seems that there is a particular disdain for children with downs syndrome. Mostly because there is a test for it and a lot of people automatically assume that if their baby tested positive in the womb then obviously it should have been aborted.
That is the belief of the pro-abortion crowd.
Eugenics is alive and well with the liberal baby killing crowd, in their minds there's no better way to improve the human condition than to eliminate the defective in the womb.
There are places in the world where testing as female will get the same procedure...but I digress.

A few days ago I read a comment someone made at another site, I don't have the link....I wish I did.
But the comment went something like this:
How do we know abortion is still legal?
Because we still haven't found a "gay" gene.
So consider a mother in a grocery store with her obviously homosexual son or daughter being asked by a cashier whether she was aware that they could test for homosexuality and she could have had the option to abort?
But of course I'm just an old bigot and not as good or as wise as a young bigot.

GOP Punches Back

This only has about 1800 views but it needs to get out there for everyone to see.
The whole Johnathan Gruber thing seems to be the needed catalyst to finally repeal the Obamacare leviathan and put common sense reforms in place.
Thing is that no matter how it turns out it's going to be painful but that is the normal consequence when government tries to fix anything.

Four Days late and a few Sound Bites Short

CBS finally reports on Johnathan Gruber's admission that Obamacare was passed by with holding information from voters.
Of course they left out the "stupid voter" comment because leftist elites (like the boobs that run CBS) agree with that sentiment.
Face it, the only reason they finally covered it is because it's becoming a bigger story than they can ignore.
Is it any wonder that Obama wants to move to regulate the internet?

Fortunate Son...Missed it by that much.

There's been some noise over the song Fortunate Son by CCR that was played at the "Concert for Valor" yesterday.
Basically from the Weekly Standard, unfortunately they got it wrong.
The song is pretty much irrelevant in this day and age because at the time it was written it was an anti-draft song. While it's easy to make the mistake that it is an"anti-war screed", taking shots at "the red white and blue." that's not how most people saw it at the time. Including a lot of servicemen in the Vietnam era.
I know because I was alive then. There's no doubt that the guitar riff was pretty tasty but beyond that the lyrics were in protest to the leftist politicians that were in power.Lyndon "the great society" Johnson(D) had no intention of winning the war.
Yet they still drafted men ,some kicking and screaming, to fight a war for no purpose.
The problem was that not everyone was equal in the eyes of liberal democrats and those with the money or influence could get deferments while waving the flag so as not to harm their future political endeavors or university tenure.
A lot of people didn't think this was fair and the song reflects that.
Funny how no one brings up the fact that it was democrats who conscripted men against their will for policies that they were ill equipped to deal with. Just like these days, the only difference is we don't draft soldiers anymore.

The song was inappropriate because, like I said it's irrelevant now, we have an all volunteer force.
It does have a bitchin' guitar riff though. So at least there's that.

MSNBC and Gruber Collude to Spin

So Jonathan Gruber, the contemptible Obamacare hack, has finally decided to speak out about the video he's in where he admits to deceiving the "stupid voters" to get O care passed.
This was after declining an invitation from Megan Kelley to come on her show and speak about his remarks.
He said he "wasn't interested".
He wasn't interested in defending his remarks is what he meant because he was obviously interested in going into friendlier territory to spin his remarks and who better than MSNBC?
The one thing that backfired for him is that the audience was a lot smaller.

TURNS OUT MSNBC DID NOTICE OBAMACARE ARCHITECT VID, INVITES HIM ON SO HE CAN LIE ABOUT HIS COMMENTS

Here's a bonus link....enjoy.
Shocking Discovery: Pajama Boy Works at The Washington Post Defending Obamacare!!

It seems like this guy is pretty committed, like any other liberal/commie/progressive, to believing in the "stupidity" of the American voter.

Because Healthcare.gov Worked out so well

I guess it seems that Obama and the democrats continue to believe we're so stupid that we'll trust the same government that gave us Healthcare.gov (at 2 billion dollars) to regulate the internet.

Obama calls for more regulation of Internet providers, industry fires back
President Obama threw down the gauntlet Monday with cable companies and Internet providers by declaring they shouldn’t be allowed to cut deals with online services like YouTube to move their content faster.
It was his most definitive statement to date on so-called “net neutrality,” and escalates a battle that has been simmering for years between industry groups and Internet activists who warn against the creation of Internet “fast lanes.” The president’s statement swiftly drew an aggressive response from trade groups, which are fighting against additional regulation, as well as congressional Republicans.
"We are stunned the president would abandon the longstanding, bipartisan policy of lightly regulating the Internet and calling for extreme" regulation, said Michael Powell, president and CEO of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, the primary lobbying arm of the cable industry.~snip~
I'm all for a free and independent internet but I also know that when the excessive and heavy hand of the government gets involved consumer exploitation and partisan favoritism isn't far behind.
This is nothing more than another attempt by democrats and liberals to extort more money in the form of fees from the public.
Government has been a piss poor steward of public money since forever.
Giving them another revenue stream would be irresponsible.

More Media Deception

The deceitful leftist media has always had high praise for Sharyl Attkisson when she investigated Republicans questionable actions. As it should be.
The purpose of a fair and neutral press is supposed to be able to inform us, the voters, about politicians and whether they are representing us and our values. It's why the first amendment of our constitution exists.

Surprisingly they're not nearly as generous with her attempts to investigate Benghazi or Fast and Furious. The lapdog media will do anything they can to shield the Obamessiah.
Like Candy Crowley dropping to her knees to service Obama during his debate against Romney.
Attkisson says that CBS had the proof that Romney was right but then held onto it till after the election.
So as not to reflect poorly on the community organizer.
Watch the video above.

The Contempt of the Ruling Class and their Media Enablers

Lot of people are posting this video of of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber admitting to hiding the truth about forcing Obama's signature legislation into law because ...you know...voters are stupid.
Like this kind of attitude by the ruling junta is a surprise.
Politicians are liars, it's in their genes, they can't help themselves. Mark Pryor lied about his stance on gay marriage hoping the voters in the state wouldn't notice.
Didn't help him much though because his stance on Obamacare is what really cost him votes.
I digress, the really sad part is that voters aren't really stupid, we're just misinformed by a derelict liberal/commie media and their daily willful malfeasance.
I'll bet anything that this video will not see the light of day on any alphabet channel's evening news tonight or any night.
That's the real scandal, not that the liberal/commie/democrats have nothing but contempt for the voting public, it's that the lapdog media carries the water for them.

A Little Cold Water

While everybody is patting themselves on the back over the Republicans big win this Tuesday lets not forget our RINO problem.

Arizona insiders: McCain’s already decided to run for Senate again in 2016, will announce early next year
Supposedly ol’ Mav himself told the AP yesterday that it’s “very likely” he’ll run but I can’t find that quote in the actual video. Fun fact, though: When the clip was first posted last night, some outfits like Yahoo News titled it, “McCain: ‘Very Likely’ Will Run for President in 2016.” I knew it was a mistake, of course, but for one soaring moment I thought I might have something even better than another Mitt Romney candidacy with which to troll the Hot Air faithful. Ah well. The headline’s corrected now.
For now, for the record, he’s merely “leaning towards” running.~snip~
Half the battle is throwing the liberal/commie democrats out, the other half is pitching out the RINO "mavericks".
Ugh.
