Worse than the Disease

I've been doing a little reading on healthcare and the upcoming Obamacare fiasco that we're all facing and have come to a few conclusions.
First off there's no doubt in my mind that healthcare in America needs some kind of reform. Just ask anyone who's been presented with a bill from a hospital that equals 2x's or more their annual salary.
I've been alive long enough to watch health care costs soar astronomically with absolutely no attempt by the industry to control the costs.
Which, IMO, is why the backlash against Obamacare hasn't been overwhelming enough yet to force the politicians to go back to the drawing board.
For an idea how bad it can be see this article.

Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us

When we can be charged up to 1000% above the cost then something is really wrong with the system.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in fair market principles and the need to make a profit but when there is absolutely no information to make an informed decision prior to your life being on the line then the idea of fair market kind of goes out the window.

If the health industry don't like what's coming then they have themselves to blame for the most part, but then again as far as I can tell Obamacare does very little to control what hospitals and insurance companies can charge so they won't feel much pressure to change.
Which brings me to the obvious next step in our healthcare nightmare, the fact that Obamacare is basically designed to collapse under it's own weight.
The entire shift will be towards individuals to pay for insurance with ever increasing premiums in order to be insured.

Once it becomes an "entitlement" the government overlords will be under increasing pressure from more and more people who can't afford the premiums to pay more and provide more putting more pressure on the top tier to pay more in taxes to accommodate an ever greedy public and hospital administrators.
For a taste of what's coming in the near term read this.

Daniel Kessler: The Coming ObamaCare Shock

This will not end well for anyone and the potential for a lot of suffering in the next few years is pretty much assured.
Health care reform is needed, but not Obamacare and I'm afraid that it will take the complete collapse of health care as we knew it before any real changes will ever come about.

There's some blowback against the perineal pain in conservatives asses from the tinfoil hat brigade of Alex Jones and his minions.

#InfoWarsPickupLines is trending on twitter with most people displaying their disgust with the constant conspiracy drubbing conservatives get from Alex Jones tinfoil hat brigade.

For years we've had to cringe every time AJ's sycophants and basement dwellers emerged with their pointy little heads and screeching little voices bellowing the latest conspiracy involving 9/11, the Bohemian Grove, Illuminati, and accusations of a government "false flag" operation every time evil happens.
What makes it even worse is that they claim they are all patriotic Americans resisting the "gubbermint" and telling the "truth" that the "sheeple" don't see.
They try to attach themselves to true patriotic Americans who want limited government and fiscal sanity.
They claim they are "conservatives" but the truth is that they are far left libertarians looking to smear limited government Americans by trying to attach their fringe beliefs on the conservative movement.

It's getting old and a little tedious, it's time we all pushed back against a very loud minority and take responsibility back.
These clowns are exactly that........clowns, and need to finally be marginalized to the fringes of the Internet where they belong.

No Union for Twinkies

The good news is Twinkies are not dead, they'll be resurrected by another company without the obstacle of a union constantly making demands.

New Twinkie Maker Shuns Union Labor

Hopefully they'll stick to their guns, the best thing to do is deny any application from anyone who used to work at the old company. Weed out the parasites and actually employ people who want to work and not demand that the company carry them to the grave.

Maybe it'll make them think a little harder before shooting themselves in the foot again.

Yellow Journalism Takes a Dive

This is too good not to share, from Breitbart.

New York Times Ad Revenue Takes Dive

Bad news for the financially troubled New York Times is always good news for America -- and America received some very good news today. In an attempt to survive online competition and a growing credibility gap, Bloomberg reports that the Times is banking on a move to digital subscriptions to make up for declining advertising revenue.
In the first quarter of 2013, that plan has failed miserably.
Advertising revenue plummeted 11%, while subscription sales rose by only 6.5%.
Total revenue dropped by a full 2%, which analysts did not expect.~snip~
Another news organization committing slow suicide on the altar of progressivism. Apparently feeding at the trough of the democrat party provides way less calories than the New York Slimes expected. No surprise though that they would join the other commie liberal news outlets with declining ad revenue.
I mean who wants to invest in a dying media?

On Media Defeatism

Years ago, Feb. 27,1968 to be precise, Walter Cronkite delivered a report from New York on the Tet Offensive basically saying that "we are mired in a stalemate".
After the broadcast Lyndon Johnson was supposed to have said something along the lines of  “If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost the war.”

Whether he actually said it or not the fact that it persists is a telling indication about what impact the media can have on events. Support for the war began to erode pretty quickly after that.
The media made a hard turn against the war and there was growing resentment for the democrat policy of involuntary inscription into the Army to basically be thrust into a perceived meat grinder.

According to Robert McNamara's book, "In Retrospect" there really wasn't the political will to win the war in Vietnam but that is another discussion.

What got me thinking about this is the almost comical way the liberal commie media has been spinning the stories on the Boston marathon bombers trying to find anyway they can to redirect the focus away from the real reason why these 2 Jihadists set off bombs killing and maiming innocent people.
From during the pre-capture to the after events, in almost every media bullshit session from assorted liberal talking heads (who's sole expertise on the subject is a journalism degree) , the focus has been away from the victims and towards an almost sympathetic discussion about the perpetrators.

The fact of the matter is that Islam is at war with us and everybody knows it, even the media elite, who believe that since they'll never be subjected to the violence that the rest of us "little people" have to endure, feel perfectly fine with pontificating on high lecturing all the rest of us on how we should behave and think.

Truth is it's the way its always been and as long as we allow the media to spin events we'll never have the will to pull ourselves out from under the influence of radical Islam.
The media is the enemy and they need to be held accountable for enabling the terror when it comes.

Liberal Media Fail Continues

Now that the suspects of the tragic bombing in Boston have been dealt with the next wave of liberal media malfeasance commences.

The Left's Spin on Boston Marathon's Chechen Terrorists

The latest go-to publication of leftist sensibility, Salon, offers a hint of what the left's spin will be on the two Chechen brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon, killing three and maiming scores.
Under the headline, "Chechen Terrorism: What you need to know," Alex Seitz-Wald writes:
Chechnya, a small, predominately Muslim region in the Caucuses between Georgia and the Caspian Sea in Southern Russia, has been a hotbed of separatist violence since the start of the First Chechen war in 1994 -- the same year that Tsarnaev was reportedly born. As Joshua Yaffa, a Moscow-based journalist wrote, The "whole generation knows only conflict."
The Brothers Tsarnaev grew up in an environment of conflict and bloody violence, and are, therefore, victims. They are traumatized, not terrorists -- at least, not terrorists who are motivated by their Muslim faith, even if that seems apparent. Even if it's proven that they have links to Middle Eastern or other Muslim terrorist groups.~snip~
And then there's also this.

Outrageous!…Immediately Following Arrest of Boston Bomber – Media Weeps for Jihadist Killer

While the liberal media are busy patting themselves on the back for the coverage they've given to the pursuit and capture of these violent jihadists the smears and oblique accusations of a large segment of America shouldn't be forgotten.
The hope that it was white males, tax protesters,  tea partiers or any other right leaning group was almost continual until identification had been made.
Then crickets from the commie media.
The left is desperate to pin a terrorism label on anyone who disagrees with them for the sole purpose of oppressing anyone who disagrees with them and they are extremely aggressive about it.

The liberal media are no longer our friends or even trusted watchdogs against government or corporate corruption, they are no longer a free press. They are owned by the democrat party, unions and liberal special interest groups.

They are simply a hive mind that thinks and responds to their masters and cannot be trusted to report truth anymore.

Busted...the "Myth" of Media Bias

Found this article over at Weasel Zippers talking about what's been obvious all along.

Gun debate triggered media bias
If you thought President Obama was outraged after the Senate killed the plan to expand background checks on guns, you should have seen some members of the press.
Even by the standards of today’s partisan media environment, the response has been noteworthy. Television hosts, editorial boards, and even some reporters have aggressively criticized and shamed the 46 Senators who opposed the plan, while some have even taken to actively soliciting the public to contact them directly.
The decision by some members of the media to come down so firmly on one side of a policy debate has only served to reinforce conservatives’ longstanding suspicions that the mainstream media has a deep-seated liberal bias.
“I guess the liberal media get annoyed when Senators listen to their constituents and think for themselves, rather than doing the media’s bidding,” Bill Kristol, the editor-in-chief of the Weekly Standard, told POLITICO.~snip~
Read the whole thing and then tell me how anyone can trust anything that these pompous assholes write, Between hoping for Boston marathon bomber to be white to searching for any whiff of "tea party" involvement when any tragedy strikes it's boldly apparent that the media will stoop to any level to advance their liberal commie agenda.
It's unbelievable that anyone can take what they say seriously.

Next Generation of Voters

Apparently this is the new "internet craze"....snorting condoms. According to this article it's sweeping the web.

Condom Snorting Becomes The Latest Internet Craze
A bizarre new internet craze called “The Condom Challenge” is sweeping across the world wide web, but doctors and experts have revealed that it is actually deadly.
The task involves unraveling a condom on camera, pushing it up your nose and then snorting it, before then gagging it back through your mouth.
Dozens of youngsters have now started to post videos of themselves doing this to Youtube, and commenters have been quick to condemn those involved for their actions, with one writing, “Why the hell would people do something so stupid?”
Another added, “Sheer stupidity. This is sick and disgusting.” But a doctor has now revealed that it is actually extremely dangerous.
Doctor Carol Cooper told The Sun, “It’s shocking and incredibly stupid. The nose is connected to the back of the mouth – it’s also connected to the airwaves. There’s every possibility something you push up your nose will end up in your windpipe, or in your lungs. With potentially fatal results.”~snip~
All I can say about the doctors statement is "duh" ....that would seem pretty self evident.
I don't know the age of this young lady but it appears that her generation will have no problem voting in the next presidential election if they choose to.
Lucky us huh?

Wee Wee'ed Up

I don't know about anybody else but I'm getting a little tired about Obama getting all worked up over stuff that in the here and now don't matter worth a shit.

Background check plan defeated in Senate, Obama rips gun bill opponents

The Senate on Wednesday defeated a vital background check amendment seen as the linchpin to Democrats' gun control bill, dealing a major setback to President Obama -- who lashed out at opponents in unusually blunt terms during remarks from the Rose Garden.
"All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington," Obama said, accusing the gun lobby of lying about the bill.
The vote was 54-46, with supporters falling six votes short of the required 60-vote threshold.~snip~
I mean this is almost constant, this administrations focus on silly stuff and not bothering to do something about the dismal number of jobs created last month. Or the number of people forced out of the workforce because........there ain't no jobs out there.
Hey Obama!!!
How about doing something about all the businesses that have to cut their workers hours because of Obamacare, that more and more don't want?

Want to get fired up about something Obama?
How about you stop finding ways to circumvent a constitutional right and get angry about the rules and regulations your administration and the commie democrats put in place to over burden business and kill jobs.

So far, on what really matters, your as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Liberal Media Speculates on the "Usual Suspects"

So we have this terrible, tragic bombing in Boston today. You just got to feel for the families who are grieving for their loss and the injured. Not much is really known yet but I, like many others, hope that the ones who committed these acts are found quickly and brought to justice.

I've been monitoring various links looking for updates as things move on and have run across the usual tin hatters that seep out of the sewer when something tragic happens. Like Alex Jones taking advantage in order to keep his ad revenue coming in for his websites and ginning up the crazies out there to foam at the mouth at the "ebil gubbermint" and what not.

No surprise there.

But apparently the liberal media are still looking for the "right-wing" extremist that they froth about all the time to gin up their brain dead liberal base.
I found these while looking over Weasel Zippers.
First CNN.

And then the always drooling, intellectually stunted, Obama fluffer Chris Matthews.

They can ignore real news like the Benghazi cover up or the trial of Kermit Gosnell, you know things happening in real time but speculation about "right wing" terrorism without any proof seems to be "news worthy" to them.
No wonder people are flocking to the web and social media like Facebook and twitter to know what's going on in the world.
Cause they sure can't find it from the "mainstream news".

You know no one had to speculate on the tendency of the Occupy movement to have terroristic tendencies seeing as how some had full blown plans to bomb a bridge.

How come tingles never foamed at the mouth about that?

The Cold War Continues

Almost all the time I was growing up communism was the greatest threat we as country faced. I even got a certificate that designated me as a cold warrior a couple of years ago for my service in the 70's.
But the fact is we didn't win it, it just moved to this country and the communists have infiltrated the media, congress, unions and academia..........and we are losing.

Get a load of Melissa Harris-Perry's latest justification for her recent "collectivist" comments on our children.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
12 whole minutes of typical comrade propaganda taken right out of the old re-education films and seminars of just about any cold war era country. All hail the collective.

From the video:
This is about whether we as a society, expressing our collective will
through our public institutions, including our government, have a right
to impinge on individual freedoms in order to advance a common good. And
that is exactly the fight that we have been having for a couple hundred
Yup we have been having this fight, not quite as long as she claims but since the end of WWII, in order to keep it out of this country.
She also wonders why it caused so much outrage on the "right wing", well the reason is pretty simple.

We're not OK with our children being owned by the collective because we've seen it before.
MSNBC has become Pravda, the propaganda arm of the democrat party.

Liberal Media BS of the Day

According to Slates Irin Carmon, being a male pretty much disqualifies me from being horrified by the murderous rampage of abortion butcher Kermit Gosnell and the silence of a derelict media.

Then she goes on to prove us wrong by providing 2 year old links to stories about the arrest of Gosnell  as proof that they've been right on top of it.

There is no Gosnell coverup
This week, the right wing has been working the refs, demanding to know why the press has been allegedly silent on the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia doctor who allegedly committed horrific acts against his patients with impunity for years. Fox News’ Kristen Powers kicked it off with an Op-Ed in USA Today, claiming, “The deafening silence of too much of the media, once a force for justice in America, is a disgrace.” Michelle Malkin has helped spearhead a Twitter campaign. Breitbart.com calls it “a full-blown, coordinated blackout throughout the entire national media.”And mostly, the campaign is working, generating a series of sheepish responses (and a near-instant BuzzFeed listicle). In an Atlantic piece headlined, “Why Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s trial should be a front page story,” Conor Friedersdorf admits, “Until Thursday, I wasn’t aware of this story … Had I been asked at a trivia night about the identity of Kermit Gosnell, I would’ve been stumped and helplessly guessed a green Muppet.” Slate’s Dave Weigel congratulated the tweeters for getting his attention and then filed a piece sympathetic to the coverup claim, lecturing pro-choice people that “You really should read that grand jury report,” and concluding, “Social conservatives are largely right about the Gosnell story.”

No, they aren’t right about the Gosnell story. If you’ve never heard of the Gosnell story, it’s not because of a coverup by the liberal mainstream media. It’s probably because you failed to pay attention to the copious coverage among pro-choice and feminist journalists, as well as the big news organizations, when the news first broke in 2011. There would be something rich, if it weren’t so infuriating, about these (almost uniformly male, as it happens) reporters and commentators scrambling to break open this shocking untold story. You know, the one that was written about here, here and here, to name some disparate sources.~snip~
I suppose pointing out 2 year old stories about a trial that is happening now is supposed to elicit some kind of mea culpa on every ones part. As if that's supposed to excuse the incompetent no coverage of the trial as it goes on in real time.

But then, to insult  our intelligence, she delves into a diatribe basically blaming the pro-life movement for forcing these women to go to a butcher because access has been restricted because #1 the "gubbermint" won't pay and #2 there ain't enough clinics.
After all, the question is not just why the state failed to respond to the complaints of women and advocates who visited the clinic, although that matters hugely. It’s why women kept going there anyway: because they felt they had no alternative.~snip~
As if we are to dismiss the states responsibility to at least monitor Gosnell's clinic to ensure that it provided a legal, clean and safe environment to perform abortions. I mean I remember the whole Roe vs. Wade kerfuffle and one of the big selling points was to be able to eliminate coat hangers and dangerous "back alley" type abortions. To make them safe for "choice".
Gosnell's clinic failed miserably and so did the agencies that were supposed to provide over site.
Which means "choice" failed also which in turn means that the left wing media propaganda machine failed also.
The reason that it's not covered is because big media lied then and they ignore it now so as not to remind anyone of that.

Hanoi Jane to Veterans, Because,"SHUT UP!"

Jane Fonda, the Dennis Rodman of her day, again poking her thumb in the eye of America since 1972.

Jane Fonda tells veterans boycotting her movie 'The Butler' to 'get a life'

LOS ANGELES –  When Jane Fonda was cast as former First Lady Nancy Reagan in Lee Daniels’ forthcoming film “The Butler,” some Reagan fans were not pleased. Now, with the biographical due to hit theaters in October, a movement to boycott the movie is gaining some momentum.
Larry Reyes, a Navy veteran and founder of the “Boycott Hanoi Jane Playing Nancy Reagan” Facebook page has been particularly vocal about the casting decision, given Fonda’s past frolicking with the enemy during the Vietnam War.~snip~
Yeah I remember the outrage over this, my dad was career Army, recently retired, and he and his friends were pretty angry over the fact that she wasn't brought up on charges of aiding and giving comfort to the enemy. But then again she claims  it was all a big mistake.
Just in case anyone doesn't know.

In North Vietnam, Fonda was photographed seated on an anti-aircraft battery; the controversial photo outraged a number of Americans. In her 2005 autobiography, she writes that she was manipulated into sitting on the battery; she had been horrified at the implications of the pictures and regretted they were taken. In a recent entry at her official website, Fonda explained:
It happened on my last day in Hanoi. I was exhausted and an emotional wreck after the 2-week visit ... The translator told me that the soldiers wanted to sing me a song. He translated as they sung. It was a song about the day 'Uncle Ho' declared their country's independence in Hanoi's Ba Dinh Square. I heard these words: "All men are created equal; they are given certain rights; among these are life, Liberty and Happiness." These are the words Ho pronounced at the historic ceremony. I began to cry and clap. These young men should not be our enemy. They celebrate the same words Americans do. The soldiers asked me to sing for them in return ... I memorized a song called Day Ma Di, written by anti-war South Vietnamese students. I knew I was slaughtering it, but everyone seemed delighted that I was making the attempt. I finished. Everyone was laughing and clapping, including me ... Here is my best, honest recollection of what happened: someone (I don't remember who) led me towards the gun, and I sat down, still laughing, still applauding. It all had nothing to do with where I was sitting. I hardly even thought about where I was sitting. The cameras flashed ... It is possible that it was a set up, that the Vietnamese had it all planned. I will never know. But if they did I can't blame them. The buck stops here. If I was used, I allowed it to happen ... a two-minute lapse of sanity that will haunt me forever ... But the photo exists, delivering its message regardless of what I was doing or feeling. I carry this heavy in my heart. I have apologized numerous times for any pain I may have caused servicemen and their families because of this photograph. It was never my intention to cause harm.
Like, just being there couldn't have possibly been used for propaganda.
What gets to me about this whole thing is that basically she's telling "right-wingers" that there ain't enough of us to make any difference for the receipts of this movie so we all should just "get a life".
Hanoi Jane has never suffered any consequences for her actions over the years because she basically got cover from the immoral degenerates that rule hollywood.

That's why they've been able to systematically tear down our culture, Jane Fonda was one of the first to thumb her nose at the people of America and suffered nothing for it, so why shouldn't the degenerates in hollywood believe they would be held accountable for their actions?

The very last movie I ever saw with Jane Fonda in it was Cat Ballou, I haven't watched anything with Jane in it since then and I have no intention of breaking that boycott.....ever.

Liberal Media's Deception through Omission

I don't think it's any surprise to anyone that the progressive alphabet channels do their utmost to steer the morals, attitude and beliefs in this country through various means,
What is surprising is the number of people who let them get away with it. Ideas that were once unthinkable 15 to 20 years ago seem to be common place now in 2013.

There is no depth that the liberal, progressive media will sink to to push their agenda on the public, from using children as props for Obamacare to dancing on their graves to push unneeded gun control measures on the public.

But sometimes, to prop up one of their sacred cows, they'll engage in acts of omission. They seem to think that if they don't talk about it no one will notice.
That's why when one of their own, Kirsten Powers, notices it's time to sit up and pay attention.

Philadelphia abortion clinic horror: Column
Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations?
It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell's former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart.~snip~
I agree with her that this story should be covered by the media extensively but I know that it won't be. Simply because the liberal media supports the murder of unborn babies, abortion, up to just before birth. Because women deserve to be able to control their own bodies dontcha know.

But the problem with telling this story is the babies were murdered seconds after they were no longer part of the woman's body and to talk about them actually being alive with a chance to survive is too close to realizing that there is a point that these were actually human beings in their mothers womb.

The lying liberal media doesn't want to take a chance that more people will trip upon that idea and start to think about what abortion really is and they can't have that. After all it might undo the decades of lies and omissions they worked so hard to disseminate to keep the murder mills of planned parenthood going.

Socialism Goes Mainstream

I grew up in an America that believed in individual achievement and reaching for the stars. My childhood was made up of the formation of NASA and the moon landings, in the belief that with hard work and perseverance someone could achieve almost anything.
The press actually celebrated these virtues.....not anymore.
Now they celebrate just getting by.

Who decides MSNBC how much is "just a little more"?
This is just another attempt by the media to influence those with no ambition to punish those who feel the need to achieve more than what the mediocre society we live in now.
How much is Melissa Harris-Perry willing to give up for equity and social justice?

I mean what the hell is going on? We've gone from "eat the rich" to "screw the meritocracy".
When she's emptied her bank accounts first and impoverishes her own children for equity and social justice then she can talk.
Until then she needs to STFU.

RIP Iron Lady

So I woke up this morning and read about the death of Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at the age of 87 from a stroke.
Sad to see her go and my sorrow goes out to her family and other loved ones for their loss today.

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher dies after suffering stroke

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, an outspoken woman known to many as "The Iron Lady," has died at 87 after suffering a stroke.
"It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning,” Thatcher spokesperson Lord Bell said in a statement.
Thatcher led Britain's Conservatives to three election victories from 1979 to 1990, the longest continuous period in office by a British prime minister since the early 19th century. Alongside former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, Thatcher battled against communism and saw the Berlin Wall get torn down in 1989.
On Monday, British Prime Minister David Cameron cut short his trip to several European countries after the announcement of Thatcher's death.
"We have lost a great leader, a great prime minister and a great Briton,'' Cameron said in a statement.~snip~
Another part of the story though is the vitriol and hate spewed by the deranged left towards her upon her death. Something we've seen far too much of lately....as in real lately.
If you can stomach it Twitchy has a roundup of it here.

You know what really kills me about the strange liberal mental disorder is they're all hostile towards religion and people who believe in God until they need a hell for those they hate to go to. Then they're all about hoping they're burning there.

Well, I hope they all get what they wish for, that there really is a hell and that they'll be introducd to it when the time comes for them to leave the earth.

On Mental Disorders

So, Rick Warren  pastor of Saddleback Church, suffers a tragic loss and the first thing spewing out from twitter are people wondering if he did it because he was gay.

No really.

You can find examples over at SooperMexican.

Pretty vile but what I find truly sick is that these "gay advocates" are so self centered and twisted that they are trying to make it about themselves.

And they say that being gay isn't a mental illness.

Surviving Hope and Change

Unfortunately it doesn't do any good to say I told you so but I don't see how anyone can spin this into a positive.
Unemployment is down because so many people have given up. Simply because the jobs are not out there.

People Not In Labor Force Soar By 663,000 To 90 Million, Labor Force Participation Rate At 1979 Levels
Things just keep getting worse for the American worker, and by implication US economy, where as we have shown many times before, it pays just as well to sit back and collect disability and various welfare and entitlement checks, than to work .The best manifestation of this: the number of people not in the labor force which in March soared by a massive 663,000 to a record 90 million Americans who are no longer even looking for work. This was the biggest monthly increase in people dropping out of the labor force since January 2012, when the BLS did its census recast of the labor numbers. And even worse, the labor force participation rate plunged from an already abysmal 63.5% to 63.3% - the lowest since 1979! But at least it helped with the now painfully grotesque propaganda that the US unemployment rate is "improving."~snip~
For those who need charts they are at the link.
Unfortunately it's just not the democrats and pandering RINO's who don't understand how the economy works. Just go to facebook and choose some liberal "progressive" time lines and behold the number of ninnies that are out there.

There's one guy I read who claims that if only the minimum wage was raised by several dollars then welfare will basically disappear................ I know right?

I realize that there are some people who would rather sit back and collect from uncle sugar and not bother to work at all but the reality is that Obama and the democrats are doing everything they can to stifle business and kill jobs. A lot of those who've dropped out of the workforce for disability, welfare and other entitlement benefits are doing it to survive.
Want to stimulate hiring?
Remove the uncertainty of Obamacare, get the democrats to quit threatening to raise taxes, create a budget and repeal bullshit regulations that burden business.
Do at least that much and then see what the participation rate is or we can continue on this path and see if we can out malaise the Jimmy Carter era.

Marijuana Goes Mainstream

I'll admit that when I was a very young man I used pot and unlike Bill Clinton I actually inhaled.
Back when you could buy a "nickel" and an ounce cost $10.00.
Smoking pot back then was sort of a revolutionary act a way to stick it to the "man" and throw off the oppression of the government and uptight squares.
Plus I kind of liked getting high.

That was back in the day when love was free, more women where becoming single moms, started exploring food stamps and welfare and divorce became "no fault".

Hardly good social changes.

I'm not saying smoking pot caused these changes but I do know that it can rob people of their ambitions.
I can't tell you the number of times I've sat around listening to people at the time get high and then lay out their entire lifes plan then instead of acting on it all they did the next day was get high again.

But then again that's what being an American is all about, as John Kerry said we do have a right to be stupid.

So it's no surprise that a majority of Americans would poll to support legalizing pot.

Majority Now Supports Legalizing Marijuana
For the first time in more than four decades of polling on the issue, a majority of Americans favor legalizing the use of marijuana. A national survey finds that 52% say that the use of marijuana should be made legal while 45% say it should not.
Support for legalizing marijuana has risen 11 points since 2010. The change is even more dramatic since the late 1960s. A 1969 Gallup survey found that just 12% favored legalizing marijuana use, while 84% were opposed.

Yup, that's right, something that used to be a revolutionary act is going mainstream with the public and you know if it ever does get legalized the federal and state governments are going to tax the shit out of it.
As a matter of fact a lot of them are salivating at the prospect of another revenue stream. The very same governments who have been been crappy stewards of our money as it is.
Because they have been so bad at it before they need new ways to raise taxes so they can piss away even more. Pot will be perfect for them for the simple fact that it will be considered a vice like alcohol or cigarettes so the tax potential will be unlimited.

When pot becomes legal it'll be the governments opportunity to stick it to the users again.
Counter culture going full circle, how ironic will that be?

Redefining the Issues

This isn't that surprising, the way that liberals win the debate is to redefine the issue. Having caused a shift in attitudes towards homosexuals by defining them as gay and qualifing marriage as either "same sex or opposite sex" the marriage debate is all but lost in this country no matter what the SCOTUS decides.

So obviously the next shift is to redefine immigrants who illegally enter the country by avoiding the term entirely.
