The Racist Myopia of the Left

I ran into this little gem over at the Daily Beast.

Republicans Are Racists? No, It’s Just All a Big Coincidence
Come on, fellow liberals. Calm down. I guess maybe it’s fair to call Cliven Bundy a racist. That “picking cotton” business put it over the top, and wondering whether they were better off under slavery. Even Sean Hannity, Bundy’s greatest media champion, threw in the towel last night: He wanted it to be “abundantly clear,” Hannity said at the top of his show, that he found the remarks “downright racist,” “repugnant,” “beyond disturbing,” and so on.~sni~
As you delve further into the article you'll find that the statute of limitations for repugnant actions and deeds seem to be about 60 years ago where the "author" of this piece begins to "apologize" for Robert Byrds membership in the KKK and then points out that he "recanted" 40 years ago and that Byrd is dead. I guess that means no harm or no foul right.
Surprisingly he does acknowledge the firm connection between the democrat party and the Klan but then he claims that that was "100 years ago" so obviously the democrat party can't be held accountable for their poor choice in association anymore. Now can they?

Apparently the purpose of this little piece of contrived tripe is to suggest that the parties have flipped sides over the years and that republicans are now the real bigots and racists so it's OK to white wash the entire episode of history.
Well the clown writers assertions are pretty much false. For one thing a lot of the statements being made nowadays by misguided conservatives are out of racial ignorance, not malice Also as sad and misguided as these statements are they don't rise to the actual actions of the Klan and the democrats. Some of which happened in the 1950's to the early 1960's.
Statements and missteps by republicans and conservatives nowadays in no way rise to the equivalence of the violence, burnings and lynchings during the klans hayday.
Nor do we see the actions we were witness to by Orval Faubus in 1957 or George Wallace in 1963, both democrats who actively opposed desegregation, by republicans or conservatives.
The democrats obsession with race persists today in the way they try and make everything about race in order to do what they have done for the last 100 years. To divide this country and hold power.
Missteps, misquotes and ignorance by conservatives and republicans are not equivalent to the overt and criminal acts committed by democrats for the last 100 years. First in the interest of "racial purity" and now in the interests of the democrat party.

So mock all you want libs because there are still people out here who know what you really are and we're not going to let you cleanse away the truth.
